As usual, the major supermarkets Woolworths & Coles and most other stores have half price (50% off) easter items; eggs, rabbits, boxed items etc.
Even if they don't have all the price tickets put up yet, they'll still scan at the reduced prices now.

They were putting the clearance tickets up when I went there earlier, I think the prices only switched over this morning. Woolworths half prices are advertised in the newspapers too.

Still WAY overpriced, $5.75 (WITH half price discount!) for 140gm of product. For $3 you can buy a full block of the same chocolate (almost double the qty for almost half the price)
Cadbury make enough margin out of Easter to break even for the entire year on chocolate production. It is the biggest ripoff between cost of product vs sale price in Australian retailing. (ex employee!)

People like the novelty of Easter eggs, rabbits, etc… Obviously no one would buy anything but solid blocks if value was all we thought about.
Indeed, and I don't care what anyone says, hollow novelty chocolate does taste better.

Kmart sale advertised the other day. 50% off was advertised. Some of the actual prices were much better. eg 110g hollow egg (Cherry Ripe, Crunchie, Milk) $1
So, that's less than 1 c per gram, which is a pretty good price for that chocolate
Yeah it seems WOW left everything till today to reduce, however had crap all left.
However on the other hand World of Coles had too much and everything reduced yesterday (except box sets) sub $2 for 200gm Cadbury flavored bunnies, the prices for the home brands were actually more than the name brands in my local Kmart store.
I was there yesterday and they hadn't reduced anything yet :/
