Planning to stay for 4 nights in Singapore in June but damn the hotels are expensive in Singapore. Would need a basic double/queen room with an ensuite for around $500 for the 4 nights. Possible? Cheers
Budget/Boutique hotel near Singapore Chinatown

Thanks for the suggestion about the hotel and the ratestogo voucher. Will look in to it.
possible
Have you tried agoda? They have pretty good prices and discounts there. Also it would be good to know which area you would like to stay in. Staying near a subway line is very convenient, since taxis can sometimes be hard to get and picky with customers.
I did look on Agoda and didnt find a decent hotel around the budget. Will look a bit more but I think I can score a good one with the above mentioned ratestogo deal.
Consider little india. Very near train line. A decent crappy hotel can be had for about $50 - $60
We don't want a crappy hotel, that is the problem. lol
Citigate Hotel. Call them directly & tell them your needs, you'll get a far better price than booking the same room online for some reason! ;)
Are you sure there is a citigate hotel in Singapore? I googled the name and nothing came up. All the results were showing Citigate Melbourne.
Doh, sorry! I'm on a secondment out of area ATM so the early starts & long days are killing me…my sleepy brain just saw 'Chinatown' & read 'Singapore' as 'Sydney'. I'll shut up now! :)
Haha. No worries. Not long to go before the long weekend.
Have a look at PYO travel,
Have breakfast included in the rates, and should be cheaper than agoda, hotels combined etc.I managed to get the cheapest rates for a club room at marina bay sands 18 months ago and the real bonus of a free night if 3 or more nights were booked.
PYO is reliable and probably spent 5 k on accom thru them on my last 2 os trips.
Below is a sort of testament of how cheap going through PYO can be

Have fun on your holiday btw..
Would love to be going to Singapore again or just get out of Australia, but this year Il be using that money responsibly instead :( lolHad a look at the PYO travel but nothing really too great than what I was looking already on the other websites. Surprisingly, Marina Bay was not even listed on their website anymore, not sure why.
I ended up booking the Naumi Liora boutique hotel in Chinatown as the wife liked the hotel. Used the Ratestogo $100 voucher to book the hotel and the final amount was around $530.00 (taxes included) for the 4 nights. So, not a bad deal I thought for a hotel in a pretty good location.
Thanks for all the help.
yes, possible.
something like the Porcelain Hotel is only $450 for 4 nights according to ratestogo
do a search and see what you like, don't forget ratestogo have a $100 off voucher (search this site) savings are off rates excl taxes.
