Instructions for accessing Amazon Appstore outside of the USA:
http://android.appstorm.net/how-to/internet/how-to-access-th…
It's a random guide from Google, but method will work. You may have to try a few addresses before it works. Make sure you match the correct zip code with the suburb.

You may download the Appstore directly from Amazon by visiting this link from your Android device, rather than risk an .apk from a 3rd party:
www.amazon.com/amazonappstoreapp

You may also need to install and run a VPN to make it look like you are in the USA; try the free TunnelBear VPN.

Edit: Sorry, had issues with the link.

  • Freebies are always good. Thanks :)

  • Thanks, got them all except Dabble. Tried to charge me $2.99 when I tried.

    • I got Dabble for free using TunnelBear on the PC. Not sure why they tried to charge you.

works fine with my AU address

    • +1

      same

  • i recommend Quell Reflect. nice relaxing yet challenging puzzle game.

  • +1

also note "The Croods Movie Storybook" is the free app of the day.
so if you want the cheap (free) alternative version to taking your kid/s to see it at the movies, you can get the storybook app to narrate the movie to them instead.

  • can someone please post a direct link, I don't see the "Free App of the Day: Greatest Hits" box

not sure if thats a referral link or something, but it works
(cant figure out how to make it a clickable link…)
btw, greatest hits box should be on the right side of the home page

      • Thanks

      • Thanks 100. When I used that URL it would keep going to a 'page not found' on Amazon. Might have something to do with the OzB redirector? :S

Edit: Oh btw, thanks again for the instructions. :D

        • the URL is a pain in the ass. looks like it codes all 18 apps into the URL, rather than going to a 'greatest hits' page

        • +1

Yeah perhaps the URL was too long or complex.

Oh, I meant instructions for setting up Appstore account. :)

        • I may be wrong on this. However, I believe if you just set up with an Amex card, then you don't need any VPN or proxy.

  • +2

Perhaps op could add this direct url provided by 100 to the description http://amzn.to/15zvX28

    • Link added. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Nice, i also got temple run 2 for free(not sure for limited time or its always free) but i also somehow receive $1 credit toward and Amazon mp3 album or single

    • +1

Temple Run 2 has always been free :)

  • or can just go into amazon appstore on your android device

  • interesting.. didn't need to use a proxy to "purchase" the apps this time

  • +1

I can't seem to get the apps
using my local account I could not, then
I have followed all the instructions but still get "Please make sure your billing address and payment method are from a supported country"
    any helpful hints appreciated

    • +2

I had that problem too when I used my local account. Then, (on my phone) I went to Settings > Applications > Amazon Appstore > Clear Data (could't find an alternate way to log out of the Amazon Appstore…)

Then I logged in with my US account I use for Audible.

      • i went round this another way (fluke) just deleted the app and reinstalled (via wifi)

        (prefer firedragons way of course)

      • thanks Firedragon
        It worked
        could not get easymoney though!
Just can't find it on the app store
        perhaps I'm having a boy look :)
or maybe a blonde moment :)

        • Just downloaded EasyMoney a sec ago (try again maybe)

  • +1

Get the APP on PC first, then use mobile to download it.

    • how do I get the APP on my PC?
I tried through amazon and it says you already own it
then it says Open the Amazon Appstore on your device, then go to Menu → My Apps → Cloud to see your purchased app to download and install.

trouble is I cant find it in my cloud
nor can I find it in the 'app store app' search
      nor on the device

must be a simple step that I am missing :)

      • go to Menu → My Apps → Cloud, APP UPDATES first, then you will find it.

  • So you need to enter a fake US Credit Card number (from the fake details generator) into the Amazon account before you can get the App to complete the 'purchase' of the free apps!?

    • +1

I didn't put any Credit Card details.

      • Thanks for the reply - seems I needed to 'activate' the use of the address that I had simply entered into the Address Book

fwiw I didn't need to use a VPN tunnel to 'purchase' and download

  • Well I tried. I give up. I won't use a lot of them anyway haaha

  • Thanks got what I need

  • Btw, thanks OP. I didn't even know Amazon had an appstore until you posted this deal! :)

  • Downloaded the free apps to my Kindle Fire and installed them through cloud with my Australian Amazon account.
