    Great price for Aus stock. Already have this lens and love it, highly, highly recommended as a general use walkaround lens.

      It comes with a 12 month CamerasDirect warranty, it will be repaired at a Canon Authorised Repair Centre in Australia, should it require a repair. If you have an issue, generally you'll need to send it back to us first.

    Not bad for everyday walking around, but I wouldn't go buy one purposefully to replace a kit 18-55mm lens.

      I would - this really is an amazing lens. It spends more time on my camera than any of my L-series or Zeiss M42's. Great price too.

        Doubt you will do so if you have this L series lens, Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L.

        But not a good comparision as its probably 4-5 times the price.

      I probably would, depending on how much you could get for the kit lens. The 15-85 has USM and is ultra quick
      Saying that I bought my 60D body only and this lens separately after a bit of research

      I would. The 15-85 is like chalk and cheese compared to the 18-55mm kit lens. Apart from the extra reach, the 15-85 has USM and far better image quality - the lens is up there with "L" branded lenses IMHO.

      It is effectively the Canon 24-105 lens, but for crop cameras.

      The kit lens isn't bad when you're starting out, but once you are looking for a bit more from your shots and improve your technique, get this lens and you won't regret it. You'll look at your photos with this lens and look back at the shots with your kit lens and see the improved contrast and colour "pop" and wonder why you didn't upgrade sooner.
