Ultrabook with backlit keyboard and touch screen?

I'm looking for an ultrabook with the following specs. Let me know if it exists :)

Windows 8
Ivy Bridge Core i5
4GB or 8GB RAM
500GB + 24GB SSD or straight 128GB SSD
-> 13.3" or 14" decent TOUCH screen
Intel HD4000 Graphics
-> At least 2 USB 3.0 Ports.
webcam, wifi, SD Card reader, HDMI, good battery life etc,
-> and the deal breaker: backlit keyboard.
I like to work in the dark ;)

The hard part will be finding one with 2 x USB 3, with backlit keyboard and a decent touch screen thats a reasonable price.
I have my doubts, but ozbargain has surprised me before, so show me what ya got, or let me know if I'm dreaming :)

  • Does the technology even exist yet to have a full HD IPS panel that's touch enabled? I haven't seen any in my travels.

    The ASUS Zenbooks are looking pretty nice the UX31 and UX32 have the full feature set with the backlit keyboard, but no touch. I really want touch. The VivoBooks have the touch, but not the backlit keyboard. Just Cant win.

    That 12" Dell flippy one looks pretty cool… but i dunno… kinda gimmicky… come on guys, help!

    Edit: Just looked at the Dell XPS 12, that has the full HD with touch, so it can be done. Why aren't more manufacturers doing it? Or am i just not looking hard enough? Any other options than the dell?

  • I suspect with the haswell refresh we can finally expect some attention to be given to the display… Many of these manufacturers have been trying to get away with the bare minimum for way too long. For all of apples brainwashing / marketing, they will at least get consumers to pay attention to the display in new laptops now.

  • ASUS Taichi…?

  • Taichi is another one similar to the Dell, with 2 screens and way more expensive. The Dell has an extra inch on the screen so I think I would rather the dell over the taichi… But I'd rather get a zenbook with touch :P

    Haswell isnt out until June right? Too long to wait :P

    • Yeah.. but I don't think we're going to see many devices matching yours and my desires until then IMO. Haswell should also offer a much better IGP which should also address thermal and space constraints in ultrabooks.

  • Damn :( Oh well, do you know if there's any regular touch screen ultrabooks with the backlit keyboard?

  • Acer Aspire S7 should have everything on your list

    • Ah I didn't think of Acer. Don't they have questionable build quality? Or does that not apply so much to their higher end aspire models? I'll have to check some reviews, But the 13.3" Aspire S7 could be the go. Cheers.
