Where to find giant bottles of hand sanitizers?

Do any of you guys know where to buy 1L or 2L bottles of branded hand sanitizer? Been looking at all the chemist websites but they only offer 200ml or 100ml. Been meaning to get a big one for home since flu/cold season is coming along.

If you need it delivered it's a couple of dollars cheaper with Terry White http://www.terrywhitechemists.com.au/ego-aqium-1-litre-19557…

      • That's 51c more, did I miss something?

        • Chemist Warehouse charge $8.95 for shipping and Terry White charge $5.95 so $21.94 vs $19.45 delivered.

Just a warning on that brand, I had a bottle of that and it went really watery after a short while. So unless you intend to use the full litre quite quickly, I can't recommend.

The liquid ones that turn to foam can be good.

      • Thanks for the heads up!

Pretty much the same thing was discussed a year ago. Aqium is good, it is what they use throughout RMH Royal Melbourne Hospital. Keep in mind the constituents are hygroscopic, i.e. they attract/absorb water (mainly the glycerin) so make sure to keep it tightly sealed when not in use. Perhaps decant from a big container into a smaller pump pack, and use a proper screw cap to keep the bulk supply sealed. I think domestically, you tend to use it slower, so it has more time to absorb humidity. Having said that I have a large pack with a pump head that I've had for a year and it hasn't gone runny. I think you'd have this problem with pretty much all the gels, their ingredients are the same, just the grade of ingredients vary, e.g. metho vs. proper alcohol.

    • Oh wow, should stop searching for "sanitizer", cause the z makes all the difference. Thanks!

  • Have you read about Anti-biotic Resistance? Anti-bac soaps cause more harm than good. You need good bacteria on your hands to protect yourself!

It depends on the use OP has for it.

For some purposes, anti bacterial is essential. For everyday use though, you're spot-on.

  • I was just looking on ebay before coming here hoping to ask about the same thing.

    Found this:

If they post to Australia for the same price as to USA, it's very cheap, like $4 a litre, one third compared to chemist warehouse. Not sure if they are genuine though.

    • Disregard this. Too heavy for international shipping.
