I made this Spreadsheet a little while ago:

    http://oi50.tinypic.com/2l9nzwj.jpg

    Note:
    - Vaya once you use the Vaya to Vaya Credit it eats into your normal credit which is a good thing, unlike LC.
    - Haven't included Boost, Kogan.
    - Vaya will be discontinuing the current 3G plans this month so you need to get ACTIVATED BEFORE 31st of March.

    • Thank a lots for your update.
How abt the signal? Current I am using three. Its my phone always out of service.

      • I'm with TPG which is on the Optus network, I get good coverage pretty much on par when I was on Vodafone. (NSW North Shore-ish)

Optus Network - Vaya, LiveConnected, Woolworths, TPG
        Telstra 3G limited - Kogan
        Telstra Next G (no 4G) - Boost
        Vodafone - Red Bull

Kogan is on the same network as boost - the 3G network that Telstra calls nextG.

        • go to whirlpool, not the same.

    • Also note the Plan Change cost

      i.e.

      TPG: Free
      Vaya: $11
      LC: $16

      • once I strict to the plan,I am rarely change to another

Curious why nobody mentions Woolworths Mobile? $29 (extra 10% off with everyday rewards) for 45 days and 5GB of data on the Optus Network. It is a prepaid option with no contract http://woolworthsmobile.com.au

vaya/kogan works out to be cheaper with more inclusions

      • Sure it does?? Please explain

        • if you need more calls and less data vaya is cheaper with the 11 dollar plan. if you need more data and less calls kogan has it for same price but with more data allowance and unlimited calls for 1 months. so it only works out to be cheaper if you need exactly 2-3.5gb data per month and light calls

        • I disagree, post paid also means I don't need to pay when I don't plan to make any calls, so during the Monday to Thursday I can save from not recharging, I worked out woollies costs me around 14bucks per month, for 3.5gb of data it's awesome.

        • it's 45 days expiry, so it doesn't matter what days you use it or whether you use data or calls, it's still $30 for 1.5 months which turns out to be $20 per month, as per above calculations. it's really not that much of a difference, it all depends on your usage pattern. fuel vouchers are great too and may tip the balance but again, not everyone's cup of tea so in the end it all depends what what kind of user you are

completely agree with the type of user comment. Its the most important part.

But for me, I recharge on a Friday and it'll last 45 days to a Monday, I wont need to recharge (most times till another Friday) So i get on average 48 days.

Secondly, its about $26 after everyday rewards, and then i use wish cards so its about $24.6, then minus a fuel voucher savings of about $1.6.

So its now $24 for 48 days. So now its its about $15 per month for me, add on my annual holiday where I could also save, by not recharging whilst im in Thailand, its about $14 per month.

          It all counts to me.

each to their own, but I think to say its only $15 per month is closer to correct than $20.

    • I'm with them, I was worried at the start about how data is billed, but my experience with them has been wonderful. Plus I travel occasionally too, so when I'm away for a few weeks I don't need to recharge during that time too, so savings when I don't need my phone. Plus it helps me gte fuel vouchers too. I think the plan is great.

  • My wife and I are with TPG (with ADSL and phone line as well). She never exceeds her $15 / month. The only time I exceed my $15 / month is when I travel overseas for work (and they pay anyway)… Roaming is a killer. I noticed that these cheap carriers tend not to provide roaming, which makes TPG doubly good for me.

My only criticism is that we cannot share our deposit (and the deposit on our land line), so they effectively have our cash earning them interest.

Woolworths works out approximately $17.50/month if you get the 10% discount. I am happy with them, but I use data more than calls.

      More data than calls?
Dodo pay as you go is your friend!!
A recharge of $10 can gives you 1GB/month for 2 months.
      Its call rate is 11c/min.

Who cares about free same network calls?
Most of us have LINE, Kakao Talk, Viber, etc anyway.
Calling landlines? Just make use of the data to call via VoIP.

      • Where can we see the 1GB/mth rate for PAYG? What I found on Dodo website is 5c/MB, and no bonus data pack, so $10 only buy 200 MB for the following 60 days.

        =============
        Found it on wp.
        http://www.dodo.com/mobile/prepaid-mobile-plans/call-rates/?…

      • How do you do it? You have to register with My net phone for example and pay another amount as well.I think Voip its not really save.Thinking to use Vaya.
Any one know plan that include international call???

    KOGAN Mobile

    29/Month

    Unlimitted calls

    Telstra Coverage

    • +1, I've been on Kogan for 2 months. Very happy, service and internet speeds have been great.

  • I use Virgin Simple (prepaid), though I don't need much by way of data because I have wifi at home and uni. $19 for 90 days, good rates but only 100mb data included. All unused call and data credit rolls over if you top up before expiry. Used to get 10% of value of Virgin flights too. I know I only paid $2.70 last time I topped up because of Melbourne trip. I currently have $40+ call credit and 500+ mb.
