Repair iPhone 4S screen cracked (Melboune, VIC)

Hi Guys,

Those of you from Melbourne area - do you know where is a cheap place to go to repair my cracked iPhone 4s screen? My friends said anywhere in Chinatown would be cheap around $100, but I would like to know if anyone has found a cheaper place?

I have tried to repair it myself, but alas, now I don't know how to put them back.

    I asked at Carebean market for an iphone 4 screen. The guy said $55 and would do it whilst you wait.

      spal, where is that Carebean market? Is it http://www.caribbeangardens.com.au/market/? Hmmm, that's a bit too far from my place.

        Bulls eye. Sorry it was early morning I figured that you would be able to goggle it out. The market entry is free on Wednesdays and Fridays, and $2 entry on Sundays. Although most IT repair guys are not available on Sundays. My suggestion go on a Wednesday or a Friday.

    We are in Brisbane and took our iPhone 3 to the Apple Shop with performance issue. They provided a new iPhone 4 (not 4S) for $130. Told this to another friend who has an iPhone 4 issue, and I think she was offered $187 for a brand new phone. MIght worth a try? They are keen to keep the customers from moving to Android I think.

        Hmm, me no expert but I would say to be fair to Apple Shop, you do need to bring it in and talk to them face to face?? In my two expereinces, we all walked in.

      My wife's friend at work has offered a new iPhone 4 for $170. The friend has an existing iPhone 4 with a broken screen, which Apple would exchange a new for $170. Looks like if anybody is looking for a iPhone, it would be good to buy a dead phone and have it upgraded to a new phone.

    I have had water damage on my iPhone 4s, which made the thing not work very well, I went into Apple and they replaced it for me with a refurb for $259 (or maybe $250), which is alot of money, but it carries the balance of the warranty which is good.

    Now, the Apple Genius told me that if I was on a contract, he would be able to get me an iPhone 5 as a replacement, I bought mine cash from JB HIFI, so no dice.

    Thought I share my story.
