I'm traveling to Krabi next week. I was wondering is anyone could advise recent prices that they ended up being able to haggle for various items. It's good to know what I should be able to expect to haggle down to. I don't want to haggle to the last $1 but want to make sure I'm not being ripped off.
I'm particularly interested in anyone's experiences in buying a tailored suit as this should be my biggest purchase.

How about a TV?
When I was there last year there were heaps of people lining up at departures in Bangkok with big TV's. I asked one guy and he said it was cheaper to buy it there and take it home, London for him. He also seemed to believe that if anything happened to it during transit the airline would be liable.
Not sure if it all really adds up and I don't know where they were getting them from but you might like to enquire if you're in the market for a new TV.
Thailand is not generally a bargain location for most electronic items. It may well be compared to some other countries, but my big screen TV was cheaper here than in Thailand.
Re the suit, I would check on Thailand forums for who's good and who's not in Krabi. I wouldn't expect there to be a wide choice, as Krabi / Ao Nang is quite small.
Also be aware that the sign "Sale" in Thailand should be taken to mean simply that items are "for sale" rather than "on sale". :-) Such signs are usually up 12 months of the year.
