  • Is this cheaper than Costco?
I think costco it was (but cant be sure)

    1x Glasslock Rectangular Container 2200ml
    2x Glasslock Round Container 1480ml
    2x Glasslock Rectangular Container 970ml

They look like the ones which are made in Korea, and come as a set at Cosco.

  • What's the advantage of glass over plastic?

      1. They don't stain.

      2. They are much easier to tell whether they are clean or dirty.

      3. They are BPA free by nature, so no worries about chemicals from the plastic leaching into your meals when you heat them up.

      4. They don't retain odours.

      5. They are also oven-safe. (thanks shibuya)

I have about 10 of these glasslock containers at home - I have replaced all of my "lunch ware" with them. Absolutely love them.

On the downside, they are heavy and a bit bulkier than regular plastic containers. But hey, I need the exercise.

Oh, and they might break if you drop on tiles. Touch wood, I haven't broken any yet after dropping them a couple of times.

      • Just to clarify, the instructions on mine say oven safe up to 230 C

So it's not ideal for all baking, but there will be a number of dishes you can cook in there, let it cool a bit, then just clip the lid on to transport or store in the fridge

    • BPA free, safest material you can use.

      • until you shatter them on the floor

  • +2

I have a few of these brand and a few pyrex glass containers. I use to have the decor plastic containers but have thrown them out and have never looked back. Experienced exactly what bradharvey listed. Not to mention that are oven safe too. So you can use it to roast potatoes/vegies, non stick and roasts perfectly.
