      Hey Furythree,

We couldn't find a deal like this anywhere else at the moment. The closest might be a company overseas, but considering we are sending from the Gold Coast and our prices include GST, plus this has a 16GB card not an 8GB, we think it's a pretty good deal :)

      Thanks,
      CamerasDirect

  • So… are the products Australian stock, or is the Aussie warranty just warranty with the retailer?

    • Hi kwchaz,

If you have a warranty issue let us know and we'll sort it out here. Generally if there is a problem with a GoPro it would just be replaced, but that would be determined at the time of course :)

      Thanks,
      CamerasDirect

      • so what your saying is grey imports anyways?

        • Hi Wisc,

We've brought them in ourselves, yes. Keep in mind it will be shipping from Australia, if you have any issues it would only need to be sent back to the Gold Coast rather than Hong Kong, and our prices include GST.

          Thanks,
          CamerasDirect

Not entirely sure it's a deal… seems to put it on par with all the other grey retailers.
The microSD is only worth about $20 tops, some of the other retailers provide a courier pickup and drop off for warranty issues, others are also located in Australia.

Oh well. I won't vote on this one. Thanks for replying, though. :)

if you posted this deal one month ago, i would've definitely bought the black and reclaimed the gst. however, i just came back from the overseas trip and snorkeled with my 1 yr old contour roam with a waterproof case.i bet by mid year, amazon will have much better deals. by the time, i wish gopro could iron out all those bugs.

What's the difference between Black, Silver or white? Just the color and huge price differences?

  • So more expensive then Kogan, both stores use grey imports….

    • Hey Samfisher5986,

Kogan will send the camera straight from Hong Kong, plus our price includes GST whereas their price does not.

      Regards,
      CamerasDirect

      • Their price doesn't include GST because we don't pay GST on products from Kogan.

You ordered yours from hong kong, whats wrong with Kogan sending it direct to the customer?

This is not a deal unless its Australian stock which it is not.

          Hi Samfisher5986,

Regardless of where we get the item from, since we stock them here in Australia, we have to include GST in our price. Kogan send straight from Hong Kong so avoid having to pay GST, we send from the Gold Coast, or you can come pick it up if you'd like.

This means that if you buy from us and travel overseas within 30 days for example, you can claim the GST back, or if it was bought through a business perhaps.

          Thanks,
          CamerasDirect

Even without the GST you are still more expensive.

        • +1

          Hi Samfisher5986,

Looking at the current price of the GoPro black edition on Kogan at $399, plus the $29 shipping, total of $428 + 10% = $470.80. We're a bit cheaper, plus we throw in a card :)

          Thanks,
          CamerasDirect

So you are dearer. The fact that Kogan sends from HK means there is no GST to be paid so your maths above is incorrect. Sure there may be some benefit to sending from GC but that is about it.

      Hi SirNed,

If you are travelling overseas, buying it as a business or just feel like helping out Australia and paying GST, we do work out cheaper :)

      Regards,
      CamerasDirect

  • Sorry but I agree … paying $445 is nothing new…

    $409.00 (inc. 16GB card and shipping) - http://www.citiwideonline.com

And if you want to buy local…

    $444.00 (inc. 16GB card and shipping) - http://www.topbuy.com.au

    • Hi Chriskabuki,

Just to let you know, topbuy.com.au will send their GoPro straight from Hong Kong as well.

      Cheers,
      CamerasDirect

      • I would think that you all get your stock from Hong Kong… but like you, topbuy offer a 1yr Australian warranty, i.e.

"TopBuy provides all Camera, Lens, Camcorder and Mobiles with 1 Year Warranty in Australia (for purchases made after 28/4/2011)."

        • Hi Chriskabuki,

You cannot expect us to have prices without GST. We are an Australian company who sends their products from Australia. Topbuy send their products STRAIGHT from Hong Kong, and therefore avoid GST.

          Regards,
          CamerasDirect
