Anybody know any qualified electrician that does not charge an arm and a leg?
I live near Karrinyup WA (north of river).
I need to install 2 ovens (one on top of ea other)
So i need two 16-20amp points wired.
I was quoted $550 ea point.
Plus $75 per half hour labors for any extras.
Is this reasonable??? Just sounds a bit excessive?
Anybody know any sparky friend?? :)
I dont need urgently. I can wait.
Thanks guys :)
Depends on the type of installation, how far to the switchboard , difficulty in installing the cable etc. If you need actual power points , as in two 15 or 20 Amp power points , there may be a case to wire them both on the same circuit using heavier cable. Cable may cost more , but labour will be reduced, and only one circuit breaker would be used.
If you think that arrangement might work , try your sparky again and reference him to Table C8 in AS3000 ( Aust Wiring Rules) and see if he can do it cheaper. Without actually seeing the job its hard to say, but $75 a half hour is a bit out there…..
