      They're actually Hokkien (a dialect originating from southern China and the predominant makeup of the Chinese population in Singapore) noodles. You'll find them in Hokkien Mee (stir-fried noodles with eggs, prawns, bit of vegie in a wok of oil that chokes your arteries if you have them too often), Mee Rebus, and other local dishes.
