Full Spectrum Warrior - Free Game

70

Yes, another free game.

Full Spectrum Warrior is based on a game commissioned by the U.S. Army to train light Infantry troops in urban combat situations. Soldiers are placed in a tense, hostile, and claustrophobic environment where they must complete a variety of military objectives. Players act as the Squad Leader, providing direction to Alpha and Bravo fire teams. The successful Squad Leader effectively uses cover in the environment and moves his fire teams in a coordinated fashion so they can protect themselves from possible attacks that could come from any direction. Full Spectrum Warrior puts you in the dirt with your men, where danger lurks around every corner.

Despite what the screenshot looks like, this is not a shooting game. It's more like a 3rd person, tactical based RTS warfare sim.

  • Had it on PS2, really not my type of game but sure some will like it.

  • There are tons of free games out there (e.g. List of free first-person shooters, Free First and Third Person Shooters List, The Best Free FPS - Shooter - MMOFPS Games list) and I don't think they all deserve to be posted individually. This would probably work better as an ongoing forum topic.

The obvious exception would be games that you would normally have to pay for, but which are offered free for whatever reason.

    • Agreed but is this game normally free? Going to the publishers site, looks like there is only a demo and you would have to purchase this game from the stores.

  • Going to Internode's download page:

    Description
THQ’s Full Spectrum Warrior is now available to download and play for free as an ad supported game.

So yes, it was a commercial game but became free several years after it was released. I owned a PS2 version of this game and like Paintoad said, not particularly fun. But it is free.

    • Fair enough.

Eh, who looks for fun in a computer game anyway?
