Oh yes, but if you do have some decent steak knives but no block, this is still a good buy just for the block alone.
Rather than throw them out, use the Jackeroo steak knives for little saws etc in the garden. They're great for cutting apart root balls etc.
You can't really go wrong with some basic BBQ tools. The knives might not be so great though but I am sure they are capable of cutting a steak and that is after all what they are for…
Used a wooden block like this before and would never touch them again, They are impossible to clean and can get mouldy inside if you don;t dry the knives properly before you put the knives inside.
I wasn't aware that people would put cutlery away that wasn't properly dry. Common sense lacking?
haha , maybe I'm just too lazy to do it all twice, but I just found it inconvenient and impossible to clean anyway.
A better solution for me was to get a magnetic bar that holds all my knives now, and it can take wet ones too.
Just saying ;-) everyone to their own.
There are maybe around 18 left at North Rocks (NSW) as of 10AM today… $5
Ummmm…. "Jackeroo" brand, I think.
