  • i love Gileltte and i use it's razors every day but i wouldn't recommend this product for everyday use, Too heavy and bulky IMHO! A good razor should be well balanced that's why i "downgraded" from proglide power to proglide manual razor!

Is it just me or does this product seem just a bit silly?

It's basically a cartridge razor which uses a battery operated trimmer as a handle.

Whilst that may seem like a convenient combination for people who use trimmers, it's a very odd mass to be manoeuvring around your face as you perform a simple shaving task.

    • Just about to say the same thing. Its an electric razor, but it uses blades? Takes batteries, but doesn't use power to cut, instead it vibrates?
Not saying its a bad deal, but surely this must appeal to a limited market.

But, then again, I've always seen vibrating razors as more of a low cal solder in the robot v human war than an actual useful tool. Just seems like it would cut you instead of hair.

  • Best long term shaving solution on the market is a good blade shaver - take your pick - with a Razorpit blade cleaner/sharpener.

    See more here: www.razorpit.com

They are about $30 at the Shaver Shop.

The only reason razor blades lose their effectiveness is that the front surface of the blade gets coated with gunk, skin oils etc. So the blade no longer cuts as close as it once did.

The razor blades companies love this fact. They also love how so many customers regularly throw away perfectly good blades and buy new ones.

The last thing they want you to know is that you can quickly, easily and vastly extend the life of your blades using Razorpit.

I have been using Razorpit since June last year and now get an average of three to four months out of a single blade. The savings are obvious.

Gillette Fusion blades are about $5 each. Previously I used one blade a fortnight or $10 a month. Within three months I recover the cost of the Razorpit and now just continue to pocket the savings.

And the blades continue - if cleaned regularly - to deliver super close, smooth, easy, nick and cut free shaves.

I'm addicted to Razorpit - I never want to be without one. I gave up on electric razors years ago - far too expensive and too many complex mechanical moving parts that break down too easily and require costly parts replacements.

Blade shaving is closer, cleaner, quicker and simpler.

Now with the Razorpit it's so much easier, cheaper and much more environmentally friendly because so fewer blades go to landfill.

I have no association with Shaver Shop or Razorpit other than as a satisfied customer.

I bought the deluxe model with the stand online direct from Razorpit before Shaver Shop stocked them. Shaver Shops pricing is pretty competitive and you can get them immediately without waiting 2-3 weeks for them to be shipped from overseas.

There's no need to buy the deluxe model. All it has is a shaver stand which I don't use anyway. Just get the cheapest basic model. All you need is the rubber/silicone type plate to clean the blade with some $2 home brand shaving cream.

Other than that I use a shaving oil and all's good.

  • I just use ALDI disposables, cheaper than cheap and works fine.

  • found the second coupon if anyone is interested. Only brings it down to $15.88
