Finally I make my version of an underwater harlem shake video !!

    • haha make sure you name it on youtube " Credits to OZBargain " for the cheap cover :p

I wonder … what happens if it not waterproof?
They seem to use waterproof and water resistance interchangeable. But surely they are different.

    • 1, they stopped using 'waterproof' ages ago for things like watches, water resistant suits them better(you know, to allow for failure!)
2, before using with your expensive new shiny phone, test it! put some cheap phone or blotting paper inside, submerge overnight(ipx8 is indefinite submersion) and check following morning

      I wouldn't trust a $9 product to protect a $600+ device…

      • especially when more expensive products are 1-3 m water resistant and this is 10m!!!

don't worry… it WAS $35… so it must be good, right?

In that case just leave your phone in a sealed container with rice and let it sit overnight.
If you have an iphone and a torx screwdriver you can remove the back cover for best results.
      So far i have had 100% success(4 Iphones and 2 Nokia) :)

I can vouch for this method 100% but the results may vary depending on your phone model! this worked my old Nokia N95 and express music 5800.

  • Wouldn't this also trap moisture in?

  • Compatible with all iPhones, Samsung, Blackberry phones and HTC Desires…even for Samsung Note?

  • "Perfect for travellers and water-sport lovers!"

I tried this, but when I answered my phone underwater the person on the other end couldn't hear anything except what they described as 'drowning noises'.

"This waterproof phone case is designed to give full functionality of the phone…"

I'd consider full functionality to be the ability to make a phone call, even if I could not talk on it without drowning noises, as noted by seanbsydney. Does anyone know if you can get a phone tower signal 10m underwater?

  • i often use a ziplock sandwich bags work for preventing my phone getting soaked by rain. i imagine if you also use a clip sealer it also becomes waterproof?

anyway, from $5.58 delivered from buyincoins http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/pages/search--underwater+ca…

  • I am dubious about build quality.

I bought two similar products that look exactly like this one from two different eBay stores.
Both had the same issue, the plastic clips fall off and I had to use superglue to place them back.

I'd go double zip lock bag instead.

  • meh..getting an xperia Z anyways

    • xperia z is only IPX5/7 only withstand 1m pressure up to 30 min o if you drop it in a 2m swimming pool, not sure if it will survive that.

  • I don't want to risk a 900 $ phone on a 9$ case.

    no way.

  • Saw something similar at Daiso the other day, although they marketed it more for the bath tub than the pool.

  • use a clear plastic bag or sandwich bag instead, save $9!
