Plantronics Backbeat Go Bluetooth Ultra Light Earbuds $66 Delivered

60

I've been looking for a set of these for a while, got delivery last night and am not disappointed. They took 2 weeks to arrive (shipped from Germany) but don't mind the quality - feel the price. JB Hi Fi have them for $119 and would only drop the price by $2 (they wouldn't price match).

They connect easily enough with android (but the plantronics android apps stink, apparently it's native support in apple land), the bass is punchy and with a 4.5 hours battery, it lasted me to work and back on the train with no problems. Voice is OK and the cables are just about tangle free.

It's my first post so be gentle :)

  • Holy crap they are cool!! Where is the battery!?!?

    • Battery is inside one earpiece. There's reviews on youtube, it works with a microUSB charger so most phone chargers fit it. The set comes with a nifty USB adapter fitting to charge and let you still use the USB port. There's no power adapter shipped though. and yes …they are cool :)
I should say the battery is non replaceable - but plantronics is a good brand - I expect it to last.

      • Thanks for me - have been thinking I need a good set of these for listening whilst I work!

Hopefully postage is not too long!

        • Well I tested the whole ordering and delivery process before I posted. It took 2 weeks and besides the posty leaving it out in the rain (sigh) it arrived safely. The post was $5.50 or similar so not too bad considering lots of ebay folk charge 20 or more to send from Europe

  • Don't mean to be too harsh on your first post but not that great of a deal.
eBay is selling them for $69.95 shipped, Australian stock as well. But hey, here at OzBargain a saving of $3.95 is still a saving right?

  • Well they have these in Vodafone stores for $99 and if you buy a second item (ie a case or charger) you get 20% off both items and an australian warranty. It looks like this site you need to send it back to the uk at your expense if you get a faulty one.

  • I like ur profile pic…. lol. Is it ur cat?

    • Thanks - no it's just a quick Google image search away Im afraid …

  • Does this use a jack to connect or ONLY wifi connection?

Coz I've been looking for a device like a receiver that would turn my earphones into a wireless earphones to work with my non-wifi device with a jack as well. (make sense?)

    • +1

      To Mikeshashimi:

I believe You would need a Bluetooth transmitter dongle for that. Something like this:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluetooth-3-5mm-A2DP-Stereo-Audio…

You need a transmitter which you connect to 3.5mm jack and then convert it to Bluetooth, and then you can use this headset as wireless headphones.

      • Is there a device that I can connect to my earphones so it becomes BT-compatible as well?

Meaning a dongle for my earphone to pair with the dongle for my mp3 player (as in the link you provided).

        PS: sorry for OOT

  • Amazon has it for similar price but here are some Reviews, if it helps someone:

    • For me they've been fantastic, just stick my phone in the backpack, no tangled wires as i move or take my backpack on an off. I've found the smallest earbuds are the best size (normally I use the standard size) as they can pop out as the earpieces are heavier than a standard in ear headphone. Sound quality is great too - I have Shure sh840 cans for home recording and although they aren't up to the standard of those, the sound is perfectly fine for walking round and on the train for work.
