Free Tim Tams outside Woolworths Granville (NSW)

262

The Tim Tam bus is at Woolworths Granville NSW until 2pm handing out free Tim Tams

mod - thanks to Guybrush57. Note that you may be filmed there and that they may use any images etc in their marketing campaign.

Edit No there was no camera's around unless they are hidden candid camera style. The only camera was a dslr & that was by a Woolworths staff employee & she asked for permission before she took the pic.

lucky it's not in Melbourne, they would melt…

melt, become waterlogged or get stabbed by some bogan drinking woodstock.

    • They have already been in Melbourne. Southern cross station two weeks ago.

If I owned a coffee van, I'd be following these guys around :)

I wish I was there. :( My friends and I would have a hoot following them around for the day. Lol.

Technically they are not handing them out for free. You have to play their games to win a packet of Treat Pack Tim Tam. But they are very lenient…so even if you completely suck, you still get to win. ;)

    I got 3 packets. :)

Life Insurance Policy doesn't cover Granville :(

These were in Albury a week or so ago. The had signs saying you had to play their games to get free tim tams.

On the other side of the signs, only seen once you've played the games and started walking away, was a message stating that filming was in progress and by being there you consent for Arnotts to use your voice and image for marketing.

No deal as it is NOT free.

  • I don't know what the fuss would be about. Obviously people want Tim Tams and enjoy them, so what's the harm in them doing what it is. Lol. To be honest, I don't see people yabbering on about how they want to win Tim Tams. They could easily just have had setup their own people to do it.

If it's a cheap game and it's a win-win scenario from a user saying above and you get your face on a commercial that nobody will care about. Lol.

I'm sure the commercial won't be that bad. People enjoying a game and winning a treat that they want. :D

the op deal prob doesn't use footage.
probably just a photo with verbal permission (see chadiwrx comment).
in that case, ok fair enough.

As for the idea of a candid camera style tv commercial:
it's a loss for our waning tv/film production industry.
The costume dept, makeup, grips, gaffers etc etc lose out, and potentially dozens of actors.

A lot of filmmakers use quality tvc's as their bread-and-butter.
These commericials keep them skilled and in the game, so they can keep telling australian stories.
We need a healthy tv/film environment, it's vital to our culture (do we even have any left?).

but if people are happy with a chocolate bar then fair enough.

    • ah well that seems fairly harmless, just a photo with verbal permission.
