Clickfree 64GB Ultra Thin Portable Backup Flash Drive $79 @ PCCaseGear

23

Appears around the $200 online on ebay and other places so seems like a good deal but probably becoming less appealing due to falling prices of USB drives.. Those looking for a non plastic USB storage device that's durable and sleek (and sexy) may wish to consider this device.

Delivery will vary depending on your location, or you can pick up in store. No quantity available listed.

Interface Type: USB2

So this is larger, slower and more expensive than a USB 3.0 64GB flash drive. Where do I sign?

Buy a cheap 120/128GB SSD and put it in a external case - it will run faster than buying these flash drives.

Can't say I would bother anymore with a USB Thumb drive above 8gb - just for moving the smaller stuff.

    • Thats right, Kingston 120G SSD was $80 a few days ago, making this flash drive a non deal.

The 32GB USB3 drives have often been available less than $20 posted, so $80 for 64GB is not very good $/GB

    • Great idea.. but do SSD drives not have dramas with the constant read and write that would be expected on a portable USB drive?

      • They are both Flash memory-based but SSDs should be better in that scenario as they typically use higher quality Flash memory. There is far more frequent read and write with an SSD that is used as a boot drive than a flash drive that is used as a file storage device, and they are designed with this in mind. The only advantage of USB flash drives is size/portability - in all other respects they are the poor little brother of SSD.
