Does anyone know of an equivalent website to hulu.com, where I can download movies and TV for free.

  there are alot of online streaming site, not sure if they are legal but at least you wont get caught for download illegal stuff.

I highly recommend the browser extension ProxMate - works in Chrome and Firefox
Just install and got to Hulu (and a number of other international sites)
Follow the instructions to unblock and Voila - you are watching

What you will find with Hulu is

Premium or just released content requires a subscription

All shows (even premium I think) contain ad breaks - not as often as commercial oz tv more like sbs

Because of that I just went back to using the usual methods - usenet/torrents etc
But Hulu is worth a look as a giant library of shows - sample one before you download a series

PS - proxmate works on all sorts of sites e.g. Google Play - want a buy a chromebook from the US - use Proxmate to disguise your connection and then use a shipping agent
Also works on PAndora, Youtube (some stuff is region blocked), MTV and soon on BBC iPlayer
