Hi all,
I was looking into the replacement for the HX30V from Sony which is due in April (overseas) but stumbled onto this deal at Hardly Normal. It is a very good price as the HX30V costs > $300 (locally) and the only difference is the Wifi feature (some say it is a bit flakey). For $174 (minus $5 for the WELCOME5 promotional code) I think a Sony 20x zoom camera isn't bad. It has good reviews overseas and apparently the video is full HD (1920x1080). So while waiting for the WX300 I bough one to play with.

Forgot to add that it is postage ONLY. Seems there is NO stock instore.

It says SUPERWEEKEND so I am not sure if this will be there tomorrow (monday).

        Bummer, although I guess maybe you weren't so keen on the SX260 anyway if you didn't press the matter.

        I was given a tracking number from "Temando" and my HX30V arrived yesterday with bonus 32GB SD card and $30 voucher, so I'm super happy. Though now I'm actually torn about whether to unpack it or sell it (I owned a HX20V previously and sold it to save toward an eventual RX100 purchase, but still had a soft spot for the HX20V and couldn't resist this deal).

    Also from SA. The rep from the NSW store handling the online orders was quite helpful (I think he's the franchisee manager of the store). Basically said no stock in SA apart from Whyalla and Mt. Gambier (both 4-6 hours drive from metro Adelaide), so no go. I suggested a SX260 as an alternative and he's looking into it. I need it by next Tuesday as Mum is going overseas, so hopefully store pickup is an option.

  Got the all-OK to pick up the Canon SX260 as a replacement. Seems like a suitable alternative IMO. Originally selected delivery, but have negotiated to pick it up from a local store. Fingers crossed!

  The other option is the Samsung WB850f . It is a very good camera and not dissimilar to the HX20/30V.
  Anyhow, I got my HX30V but without the 32Gb card …

    Did your box have the sticker saying that there should be a 32GB card in there?
