From personal experience these are pretty poor (but I paid $50 for it). Still better than the old bunny ears but I found them pretty crummy. Might just be my room haha

  • is this thing powered?

    • Amplifier Low noise 20dB gain amplifier

I bought one. It is powered. I experienced very poor performance (dee why).

Took it back for a refund.

  • Somehow I am not comfortable with a powered antenna, when a non-powered one could do the job if only I got on the roof and fixed the stupid thing.
Just my personal issue here, but I do understand there are plenty of people in rental/or bedrooms without antenna connections who would benefit from such a device.

  • i went to dick smith tuggerah about a year ago to get one, they had about 7 in stock and they were all returns, on that note i decided not to buy. but they were much more exesive then so this is a good deal, but i dont think they work well

  • Yep like all other comments above, I got this thing for about $50 and had pretty poor experience with it. It didn't perform well at all don't waste your time and money on this piece of junk

don't bother guys, just spend $120+ get a proper antenna installed, but last you for ages…none of the indoor ones will work 100% for sure..tried so many..

Can you recommend someone that does it for $120+? From what I've seen, it's generally $300+… Would definitely get a proper antenna if it's $120 installed.

not sure what's the current, but that's what i paid 3 years ago to get an antenna guy to fit one up. Maybe it's not the top stuff, but it's good enough to get all the digital channel ..i guess it also depends where you are, and hence the type of antenna needed..

    • not true, i got a digital indoor one from aldi for $30 works wonderfully

  • I decided to buy this antenna because of the price(the $9 rabbit ears antenna from Coles broke as soon as i tried to adjust the angle). I need it fro the reception/waiting area at work and unfortunately even if i would love to i cannot install an external antenna. Using rabbit ears i'm able to view abc and sbs channels but not channels 10, Eleven and One.I was prepared for poor results but after playing with the new antenna i found the sweet spot(antenna upside down and single rabbit ear full extended almost vertical). Now i get not perfect but enough signal for viewing those 4-5 channels (219500 frequency) that i was not able to receive before. In my case this antenna seems to improve the signal by 15-20 % which was enough for my needs(still no channel 9 though). Considering the price and the next day delivery i'm very happy with the outcome.
P.S. Remember that amplified antennas can only amplify the signal if present(low) but they do nothing if there is no signal at all
