  Go to Keith Bowden Electical at 1133 South Road, St Mary's. The staff are knowledgeable, prices are consistently competitive, they deliver and unpack/connect free and will take away the old appliance for you. You have to go to the store to get prices. They don't advertise them and they won't quote over the phone.

  I used to love old KB electrical but the last 2 times I've been in there (42" LCD gift for grandparents and Range hood for myself) I've been a bit disappointed with their lack of willingness to discount / bargain. They used to get all my business, but I think they have lost the plot. They used to have this little system of looking in their book or on their computer and working each customer out a special price - the last 2 times I've been in there they just outright refused to do it and it really jacked me off (after shopping there for the last 20 years).

  I would head down to Keith Bowden 1st, then go to Goodguys Edwardstown (opposite Castle Plaza) and I guarantee they will cut you a better deal than KB

  Went Kitchen shopping last night (Oven, cooktop, dishwasher, sink and rangehood)
  Visited GoodGuys South Rd, KBE and finally Hardly Normal Marion Rd, and previously visited The Origin Gas Shop at Morphett Vale (near my work) on Tuesday.
  Absolutely, positively my vote goes to Hardly Normal (which I would normally steer well clear of)!

  Alexis, was a fountain of useful advice and knowledge and actually listened to what I wanted and then showed me the options she recommended based on my needs.
  As a bonus, her quoted prices were better than the other 3 for the few identical items she recommended and they are currently having a big sale so the discounts were pretty deep off RRP for the other items.

  To be honest, we did not spend really any time discussing Dishwashers as I'm looking only at 450mm wide models and there's only HiSense (or some cheap chinese brand similar to), Bosch and Miele who manufacture 450mm dishwashers.. of those, I have aquote for the Bosch at $960.. (The Miele was $1600ish and I didn't bother getting a price on the cheapie)..

  Note that a lot of suppliers are apparently increasing prices or have already done so. Hardly's are quoting on 2008 prices for floor stock or for stuff that can be ordered on the 2008 pricelist before the 2009 price rises come into play in Feb.

  I noted on the way home, if you're interested in Miele that Rawsons Electrical (Corner Marion and Cross Rds) was advertising discounts on Miele gear.. everyone else said "Miele don't discount", but I guess Rawsons have had a long history with them and might have special exclusivity discounts. (or possibly they're just reducing thir own markup on the Miele RRP)

  I have certainly looked high and low for a dishwasher and settled on an Asko at Kosmos of all places! Great prices and friendly genuine service and FREE delivery!!!

  I went to Good Guys, HVN, Spartan, Radio Rentals, Truscott's etc.

  There is little room for price movement on Miele, Myer Adelaide
  even have a sign saying no MyerOne, Staff Discount etc. :+(

  scubacoles, I even saw a deal on a 450mm wide model dishwasher new on Trading Post: R.R.P. $1,219.00 for $700 (but it may have gone)?

  I have previously bought from HVN Marion and they were very competitive and helpful, and KBE seem to have lost this and just want to flog Fisher and Paykel to ramp their volume bonuses.
