I was in Kmart [Ashfield Mall - NSW] and saw these in the lighting and lamps department. I couldn't find the "regular" price anywhere at the store or online, but I think they've been reduced because they have one of those yellow/white "Clearance" price tags on the shelf.

The box states:

-DIY 240 Volt Spotlight
-Satin Chrome Finish
-Width 40 cm
-Globes Not Included

They had two shelves full (which, at quick count was about a dozen).

** Just remember, they're not the type that an electrician wires up for you, they are the DIY ones that you might use to replace an existing light with by plugging this into that existing socket. ** ALSO, from the box description - globes don't seem to be included.

      Don't think these will take LED's mate. They're GU10 240V by the look of it. Expensive to run in the long run…

        There is plenty of GU10 LED lights around.
        The only prob is that most of them are longer than your standard halogen lights. You need to look around to find the right ones.

      Yep - GU10 halogens are probably the most evil, poor performing lamps ever invented!

      LED retrofits will probably hang out the front of this this, unless you use low wattage ones.

    You can get GU10 240V LEDS, just search for GU10. This was $7 afew weeks ago at my local. At $3.50 this is a bargin.

    I have the exact one for my bedroom, it is very easy to install. I am using LED globes in mine. Both from bunnings, a 2W one for $2 and 4W for $9. They do fantastic spot lighting for the pictures and desk for only 6W!
