  • Only US maps are included. Which means it's not "you can put Tom Tom…" but "you must put Tom Tom/Garmin/etc" to make it usable in Australia. So how much would be the overall cost?

    • You can put their maps on it - not sure on / if theres a cost

    • TomTom software is usually quite expensive - we're talking easily over $100 AUD. Even the other brands are just as expensive.

I'm going to say this isn't a deal for any Australian because you can get GPS units preloaded with Aussie maps for the same price if not marginally more. Plus you get local support, a better brand and other features.

Won't negative vote because the OP did convert USD to AUD and for that money it's not a bad toy for a hobbyist looking to tweak or make their own GPS navigation unit.

      • I saw a TomTom GPS at Harvey Normans the other day for $198.

      • You are so hesitant to vote this deal down!? What has this site come to!? :P

  • +1

DEMO VERSION OF IGO, Software & MAPS to go with this worth more than the device. The GPS I got from Aldi for $129 with latest maps & updates much better value

    • Yes, but the Aldi ones arn't available anymore.

      • Seriously a no-name GPS without local maps for approximately the same price as a basic brand name GPS with maps. I wouldn't recommend this GPS unit to anyone.

  • with all the hassle buying proper software & maps, getting a proper GPS at local store is cheaper! $169 is not really a bargain consider all these hassle!
