so after the bernzomatic distro told me that they dont carry any spare tips for my micro torch I was on the hunt for a new portable butane soldering iron

settled on the portaosol as it was cheap and from reviews rather good quality (some lasting years of regular use)

for some reason all the other portasol stuff from amazon cant be sent to aus, but this one went through ok.

jaycar have equivalent kit for $129

    i was looking at the iroda's but then i also read that they failed a lot compared to the portasol, you can find their kit's on ebay for about $60

    good thing about the portasol is that you get more tips than what's in the iroda kit

    Kit includes 4 soldering tips, hot air and deflector, hot knife

  Aldi have one from last sats catalogue for $30 or $40. Auto ignition with accessories and stuff. 135w thereabouts. Cheap as chips if you can still find one.
