I wouldn't say it's a 'great buy' but an okay one considering it's USB2.0 and that a 3TB USB3 WD External was cheaper 7 weeks ago from JB:
For a WD product, it is. The cheapest 3TB Elements is $175 at the moment, so that's quite a saving.
I don't want to start a Seagate VS WD battle though. :P Each to their own for me! :D

You can buy Toshiba ACA 3tb's for 135 for an internal drive, its a rebranded Hitachi drive, extremely reliable. Its worth the extra 5 bucks for warranty.

Seriously, get over it. It's not Seagate. From many Google searches, that's a good thing and owning WD Elements 1TBs and 2TBs externals, none have yet to fail on me, though it's time to upgrade and cram it into one.
Sure USB 2.0 isn't fast, but it gets the job done and I've got zero complaints at the end of the day.
Lucky the trolling didn't get my receipt ignored, as I've got four more on order for $115 each at a local computer store here. :)
Trolling bargains posted may just do harm to those who want to get a good deal, so good work to idiots like you trying that.
