Since when did MSY start selling Dell… ?
shame one of the biggest advantages of the dell is display port, which this one seems to be lacking…
also does this one have VESA mounts?
MSY can you do special for 2340L? More practical for a 1920x1080 resolution.
Very tempting. Cheapest on staticice by $50:

TFT central review (VERY detailed):
27 inch and only 1920x1080 res, will look terrible
Im using a 2707 which is 1920X1200 — it looks great and is awesome for gaming. Sure, I will be upgrading to a higher res 27 inch in the future, but my current comp cant push all 'dem pixels. As it stands now, I love this monitor.
Cos those 60" TV's with 1080p only look horrible right? rolls eyes
I've used a 37" 1080p TV as a monitor once, and i tried to distance myself to about 1m away. You notice the pixels quite easily. 60" with 1080p would look brilliant as a TV, that being sitting on a couch at about a living room space away. Now I don't own a 60" so by going off my experience with a 37", i'd imagine sitting about the standard distance between a user and a computer monitor away from a 60" would not be a pleasant experience at all both in terms of noticing all the pixels and functionality.
@mrkyle 27" with 1080p will look far from terrible unless you have eyes of a hawk, or you lean in till you are about 0.5cm away from the screen and scream AH HA PIXELS..well then i'm afraid you are doing it wrong.
is this a good monitor to buy??
Yes, but realistically, the res is too low to get the most out of it. You ideally want 2560x1440 for a monitor of 27"+
but then the price will be higher, I just want to use it for normal day to day activities and movies
I'd buy it if it were 16:10, I need 1920x1200 but Dell don't seem to make one in 27" anymore?
1920x1200 is far more usable for desktop applications than 1920x1080.
And, as for resolution; I'll pay more for the larger native text associated with 1920 than the newer 2560 pixel screens.
Exactly.
I have 2 x 2407WFP's, they're still pretty good but are getting old now, I'd like to upgrade and rather than getting newer 24's I'd like some 27's. I'm happy to stay at 1920x1200, I think the natural step up belongs with 30" screens but clearly our mindset places us in the minority on both points.
i'm guessing this is 6 bit?
Yes.
6-bit + AFRC
Nice price, Pity it's "only" 1920x1080…
