Choice magazine surveys show that a basic basket costs less from Aldi than from Coolies. Buy your basic needs here and go elsewhere for the rest. And be entertained by the weird gadgets they sell.
They sell some pretty good value computers and laptops, from time to time.
Can't comment on the quality, but people don't seem to have any issues with them from what I can tell @ whirlpool.
I love shopping at Aldi, they have the best prices on junk food :)
More importantly, they are coming to WA.
On the news tonight, they said that when aldi comes to town, the other clowns lower their prices 6 - 10% overall.
Bring. It. On.
The trouble with getting Aldi opening in your area- is not the new lower price… it's the thought in the back of your mind -hey when is Costco going to open nearby ;)
You get over costco eventually. I'm thinking about dropping my membership. I just go less and less and the only real draw card is the cheap revolution for the kitties and toilet paper.
Even if you don't like Aldi, it does a very good job of forcing nearby Coles/Woolworths to lower their fruit/veg prices.
Aldi's fruit and veg are pretty horrible. I bougth some corn from there last weekend. Within 2 days one of the corns were rotting pretty bad, the other two weren't in great shape either.
Contact head office.
They all come from similar suppliers as Woolworths/Coles. The stock they get is also just as fresh.
So its likely unsold stock was kept too long in the store, Aldi are known to do this and have a reduced sign in front of the particular fruit/veg. Woolworths/Coles just throw it out instead of marking it down.
It's not the first time something like that happened. Maybe it's my store but I've been fairly disappointed with all of their fruit and veg. At best it's been medicore.
Just saw this on the news. But of course, their distribution warehouse will be in the Northern Suburbs. Of course.
Whats the exec summary on Aldi for us South Australians that have had very limited exposure to it
