I want a blu-ray a good one but also something maybe a seperate device that can easily play HD video files pulled from the internet. I dont mind using tools to change mkv to blu-ray before playing them but i need an easy way to play them if i can.

what does WDTV Live do?
Samsung E Series Bluray players will do what you want. We have them one each TV, and serve to them using Serviio on a NAS (but you can easily put Serviio on a PC if you wish). No buggerizing around with USB copying etc. Great.
I assume you mean able to play Blu-Ray discs and media files (MKV, XVID, MP4, etc)?
I just picked up a quick and easy LG BD player that has a USB connection for my mom to use… it is simple with a HDMI connection to the TV, and a USB connection for her to plug in a portable HDD or read from a data DVD…. simple navigation, able to play HD MKV files I had without problems….
Got it from Big W for $98 without checking around, so you probably can find it cheaper
if you are only after a simple media player without disc options, then something like a WDTV Live should do the trick… (Around $60-70 last time I saw at JB Hifi)
