Brentsbits - 45cm Right Angle SATA Cables with Clips - $1 Each with Free Shipping

730

Hey folks, I have several hundred of these cables sitting here and they just weren't selling at $1.50 each (still cheaper than the others) so I decided to do an Ozbargain special and price them down to $1 each including shipping. No catch, no limits on how many you can buy (except if I run out of stock of course).

There's all my other stuff in my store as well: http://stores.ebay.com.au/brentsbits

Any questions, ask away :-)

That's up there with the best of them… And local!!!

    • +2

Thanks, it was time to clear out some stock so Ozbargainers are the main beneficiaries :-)

  • +1

I like your pricing on the universal mini usb car charger. To stop people buying a product out of stock i suppose?

    • Yep, it's actually better for my search rankings if I have a single listing continuously, rather than end it and do another one when it comes back in stock. So I put it at a price no one would buy at until more stock comes in. If someone actually bought it at that price, I would cancel the transaction :-)

      • +1

Thought it might of been made of gold! You have some good prices. I assume if i ordered a few different pieces you would ship it in one go? Wont be for a week or two though.

        • Yep, it will all be shipped in the same shipment.

  • +1

I don't think if i opened a store i would want to sell my 'bits' they are much too valuable to me!

    • That's what everyone says!

    • +1

you wouldn't be opening a store if you were selling your "bits" you'd be opening your legs. Brent only sells his bits not his "bits"

      • +4

        Well…..make an offer!

        • I heard the going price is $2.

I bought 2 cables so that makes sense.

  • +6

Happy to recommend Brent. Have bought a few things over the past couple of weeks and everything's arrived promptly, good communication. Definitely worth keeping in your Favourite Sellers list.

    • +4

So… what you are trying to say is you like his bits?

      • Everyone loves my bits, for a couple of bucks each :-)

      • Thanks. I carefully worded that first sentence to avoid that comment. No such luck!

        • +1

          Everyone loves a double entendre

    • Thanks for the endorsement :-) I'm glad you had a good experience.

  • +2

Huzzah! Iv'e been waiting for these :)

Could you by an chance get some of these?

    http://www.endpcnoise.com/e/images/sata_power_adapter.jpg

note this specific design, I use them because I can pull them apart and 'crimp' my own cables

    • +2

I'll see what I can do, no promises though cause with my high volume low margin business model, they'd have to sell a bunch to be worth getting in. I will definitely check it out though.

    • Why don't you just buy the SATA plugs by themselves? Heaps easier and cheaper than ripping cabels apart to get them LOL

      • Can you buy them by themselves?

  • Just bought 10 then realized they are sata 2 not sata 3.. oops!

    • +6

Just bought 10 knowing that there is no physical difference between SATA 2 and 3 cables

      http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/300583-31-sata-sata-cable

      or from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#SATA_revision_3.0_-6_Gbit.2Fs-_600_MB.2Fs)

"In general, the enhancements are aimed at improving quality of service for video streaming and high-priority interrupts. In addition, the standard continues to support distances up to one meter. The newer speeds may require higher power consumption for supporting chips, although improved process technologies and power management techniques may mitigate this. The later specification can use existing SATA cables and connectors, although it was reported in 2008 that some OEMs were expected to upgrade host connectors for the higher speeds.[13]"

    • EDIT: Forget what I said, CyberGenesys said it much better

  • You should sell 'left angle' SATA cables. There are very few places that sell them in Aus and usually quite expensive.

    • +1

Ah yes, I did have those in stock at one stage, I believe some refer to them as "Right Angle Up" in that in a standard hard drive positioning, the cable will go up rather than down.

I am not sure how big the market is for them though, I'll have a look and see. I may actually have one left here but it doesn't have the clips on it. If you make an order, make sure to send me a not if that's the one you want :-)

      • Thanks but I already bought them not too long ago for $4 each plus $13 shipping haha.

Reason I brought these up is that whilst searching for them, I came across quite a few forum threads of people trying to source them locally.

        • I'll definitely have a look at it then. Hmmmm, maybe advertising in those forums might be a good idea :-)

  • Speed not listed? What speed are these?

    • SATA 2

  • +2

perfect timing.I am about to build 2 computers and they never include enough SATA cables with the MB.

    • +1

      Ain't that the truth

  • +1

brent, do you have a little splitter lying around that will split a single fan connector on a mobo to support 2 fan connectors?

is that a bit you might have?

    • +2

I don't think so, I just went through my box of random cables and crap and t doesn't look like it. Sorry to say.

      • Thanks anyway

        • +1

No worries. I might actually start ordering in 50 of this and that so I have a wider selection as well.

        • +1

Sounds like what I do, except I never sell any of it. My wife loves my collection of junk! (I replaced a word in that sentence)

        • Let me know when you do, I am needing some :P Cheers.

  • +1

I can't say I need a sim adapter right now… But as it's p'd me off in the past not having one, I'll grab one!
Ps. Can't believe no one has thrown the "I'd buy that for a dollar" pun up here yet!

    • lol. I got these in mainly for those telstra $10 sim pack deals because I kept reading in the comment threads people suggesting that others go and buy an adapter, so here they are :-)

  • +1

Have been hanging out for one of these. Thanks!

    • My pleasure

  • I actually organised my cables the other day and couldn't believe how many SATA cables I have gathered up over the years. There was about 25 of them. Freebies and too-cheap-to-resist deals like this one are to blame.

Time to draw a line in the sand.

Thanks for sharing though OP :)

    • +1

      It's true, I'm the devil

  • These cables are so useful when you are building a rig…. Shame I don't have any rigs planned at the moment

  • Hey Brent, how good are your nano sim tray adapters? Do they click and hold the nanosim in place? I bought a lot of sim trays for my parents and they were just frustrated at how they don't hold the nano sim in place.

    • I don't have a nano sim myself but I'll have a crack with the micro and see how it goes for you. When I ordered them I tried to go for one that like like they would hold the sim rather than just having it rest on them. I might see if I can find a nano sim in the way home.

    Awesome, just purchased 10!

Cheers Brent - just grabbed 5 to put with my collection of cables for the next time I'm needing them (as you can never find them when you actually need them!)

    • +1

I know right? However, I don't actually have that problem anymore :-)

  • +1

Great, just bought 2 as spares, I think these are needed for my BTX Dell with bottom mount harddrives.

  • +1

    Awesome thanks for the deal!

    • My pleasure

  • +1

Ops, will you be stocking SFF-8087 to 4x SATA cables and molex splitters soon?

    • I have 5 of those, how many do you need?

  • +1

Is this the SATA cable I need to add an optical drive to my newly acquired N40L (which I also purchased through OzB)?

    • If it says you need a SATA cable then this should work, have a look at the connector on the drive and see if it matches the picture.

      • Oops. Looks like I've stuffed up. I bought the cable and then opened the box for my drive and found the SATA cable in there. What I need is the molex male connector to SATA power cable. Oh well.

  • +1

    Great deal, bought 5. :D

  • Sorry, I was after a couple of HDMI Female to HDMI Male 270 degree Angle Adapter. Yours are 90 degree :(

    • I'm not sure what the difference is?

      • I'd imagine that it bends the other way, so up and left as opposed to up and right (for example)

        • If I use the ones on sale the adaptor, when plugged in, would point forwards into the case of the TV. A 270 degree one would point backwards and towards the middle of the TV so I can plug a HDMI cable into the adaptor and run the cable towards the middle of the TV :)

  • I hope you enjoyed my ebay feedback.

    • heh, took me a while to pick it but thanks :-)

  • +1

I got the last 4, this can expire, thx

  • +1

    Ozbargain'd. :>

  • Well, those cables got well and truly Ozbargained :-)

So, after the Chinese New Year is over in China, I will be restocking in a big way. What would folks like to see then? I might start doing this regularly with the more popular kind of cables.

I've created a little poll to see what people might like to see in a future special. I have some of the things in stock in reasonable numbers already so could post those fairly quickly, but some would have to be ordered in.

The poll is located at: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/93674

    • I just missed it!

      • I'll have some more in a couple weeks.

  • I grabbed 10 to add to my PC cable collection much to my wifes displeasure :)

    • As I have mentioned, I am the devil. Blame it all on me to avoid the wife's displeasure

  • 2 days to arrive! thats about a million times better than China :)

  • Received my order very quickly and they look good.

Problem is 450mm is shorter than it sounds, I think I need the same thing but 800mm long but just as a spare. The search continues :)

    Good bargain nevertheless.
