Hi guys,
looking to buy a new samsung chromebook (wifi - $249 from amazon). Anyone have any experience acquiring one of these from Australia? Looked at services like PriceUSA and comgateway. Was wondering what the cheapest route i could go about getting one of these was.
Samsung Chromebook

Not sure why ppl are chasing the celeron based notebooks, maybe price?
Oh and by the way the full name is Acer C7 Chromebook.
I dont see the attraction. They all have crappy 1,366 x 766 screens and low memory and poor processors.
Cant you buy a HP DM1 and install Chromium on it for the same affect?
I asked the same question a few months ago and there were some great info there.
Samsung Series 5 500 Wifi (The first one after the prototype) is the one I've had for some time. I love it use it for travelling.
Desktop at home office.
Chromebook everywhere else.Battery life is at least 6 hours (normal brightness etc.) stretches out to 8 with brightness down.
Love it.
Via Google Australia. Looks like JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman are now selling Chromebooks:
- JB Hi-Fi — $298 for Acer, $346 for Samsung
- Harvey Norman — $299 for Acer, $349 for Samsung
That's quite a price hike comparing to the US store, where you can buy the Samsung Chromebook for $249 USD when it was first released.
Interested in this myself, let me know what you can get in the end.
If it helps, there are multiple countries that retail it: http://www.google.com.au/intl/en/chrome/devices/retailers.ht…
Edit: It appears TigerDirect may offer direct shipping to Australia?
