Found these at Woolworths umina on a clearance rack. There were about 4 normal kindle covers, 2 kindle keyboard and 1 kindle keyboard with light left. They were marked at $6 but scanned at $4.80. It will probably be hard to find any at other stores, but worth a call.
The normal covers will work with the current base model kindle but not the paper white.
I keep seeing this deal but where in the store do they even stock these?
I think you answered why these are discounted. They are most probably stashed in a draw and sit there for several months until some stock take/check unearths them and then they get slashed to the bone.

Would love to get my hands on one! My baby got his little mits on my kindle and he snapped the hinges on the kindle cover (with light!). Kindle still works but has a crack. Have called a couple of local Woolworths (those that answered the phone anyway) and no luck.
Saw several of the normal cover at WW Smithfield (Cairns) for $10.
