I think I have found the single largest discount of all.

Buy yourself Allan Island and you will save 11.5 Million US dollars from last sale price.
This wonderful island is 292 Acres hectares and has a cute log cabin.

It was first listed in 2005 for 25mill and hasn't be sold so the price has dropped.

        There are other islands for sale (600 they say), the OP was just pointing out the best bargain of the lot weren't they :) Maybe the OP should have listed some of the other islands.

    A mate of mine owns a small island resort in Vanuatu, he has no mains electricity either, but they do have these wondrously modern devices called solar panels and generators.

    Read the fine print… it's refurbished, so probably not reassembled properly.

    Considering its manageable proximity to an urban area it's not bad value by Australian standards. But it can't be so great a deal by US standards since it has been this price for well over a year now.

    Of course you can get much better value as a foreign investor in less developed countries once you go through the essential loopholes and briberies. There was a hill in Bolivia I was told was bought for ~4500 AUD by a foreigner but he/she probably married into residency.

    One catch is you can't rename the island as Allen's Island isn't actually named after Paul Allen and has historical significance. So I'm out.
