Work Laptop

Hey guys,

Been looking for a decent laptop that will do the job for work. Gonna be using MYOB, surfing the web and using it to store all my music.

Don't want to be tight but also don't want to be extravigant either…

was sussin http://www.budgetpc.com.au/c850-pscbxa-010005.html (but paying an extra $29 for 12gb of ram) as a start but am open to ideas/thoughts?

the 12GB RAM upgrade won't make much difference, at least not one you'll notice anyway.

Why not get an SSD upgrade instead?

    • Wasn't available on the site… :(

  • Myob needs 32 bit ,so you are limited to 3 gig ram ,buying more will be wasted,if you are interested I sell ex lease top of the line HP E litebooks business grade laptops-metal frame very tough laptops.Google reviews for HP elite book 6930phttp://www.ebay.com.au/sch/nebula12345/m.html?_uhb=1&hash=item2a28b5a84a&item=181071620170&pt=AU_comp_laptop&rt=nc&[email protected]

Highly unlikely. 32 applications under 64 bit Windows run with a 2GB limit or 4GB if the application is 'large address aware'. The 3GB limit is only for running large address aware on a modified 32 bit Windows (unmodified limit is 2GB still).

      • What about Quickbook? is Quickbook able to utilise more RAM?

I have 64bit system and wondering whether which one to go…

        • Can't be sure, but it looks 32bit, almost everything is. This means it can only use 4GB max on your system. Having said that as 32bit applications have to run in 2GB, sometimes they aren't much good at using more than this anyway.
