Is it true the first time you rent a movie with a credit card that has not been used on the machines, the first movie is free?

Well actually my girlfriend told me it was, I did do it a couple if years ago, any new card that's hasn't been used on the machine gives one FRee movie. Just done know if its still the same, just got a new credit card haven't tried it yet. I might be wrong with the hoyts machine, might be the older machines they had only "OOvie ones.

I know when you first used a credit card on the machines, it used to give you a buy one, get one free code. Not sure if it still does.
