A5 Student Diary 2013 for $1 from Big W (QV)

140

The University of Melbourne has formally stopped printing student diaries, so I went in search of a good one and found this! The original price tag had it at $5, but it came up at only $1 at the counter. When opened up completely, the left page contains 'Monday', 'Tuesday' and 'Wednesday' divisions (going down the page with horizontal lines for each day and their appropriate dates), while the right page contains 'Thursday', 'Friday', 'Saturday' and 'Sunday' divisions.

The diary contains templates for writing in personal details, contact details, school timetables and notes, and also contains state school term dates, public holiday dates and the national anthem. Quite a comprehensive little diary IMO!

    good one.
should have went to other uni to grab one instead(ozbargain way) lol.

  • All books 4 less is selling their diaries for $1 too. They had the small A5 type, but also the bigger A4 type as well. I picked up a nice plain black large day-to-a-page cumberland diary.

  • I also bought a new diary recently. It's called Nexus 7. It can do all the above and much more.

How much did that diary cost you?

    • Was your diary 1 buck? lol

    • Who still uses diaries anymore? Google Calendar FTW.

Oh please. Have you seen some good diaries? They are usually leather bound and very well made and will last ages. The personal touch of it is really the whole point - near impossible on a tablet.

        • Yep mine is made by a company called underhide leather, hand made genuine leather with laser etching of whatever I wanted on the front. Was 130 shipped I believe.

Mine only needs to last a year - I usually get all my work done by then ;-)

  • Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.

Diaries are a great habit in business for notes, brief reminders/appointments and a daily highlight . I dont write novels or my life story in them.
You'll use them way after uni and they make great reading in years to come.
I put a score on each day from -5 to +5 to measure how my day went. Add it up monthly, plot it on a XL graph and see how happy I was all year. Leave the bad stuff off - not important.

I use a financial year WTP diary for continuity over the busy xmas/silly season.

Awww man! Bought this for $2 at The Reject Shop recently!! =((((((
    Good find!

I still prefer a proper book diary over the phone.

  • Thanks for the reminder, I need to go suss out an A5 diary for uni. I only ever use a diary for uni anyway, so I see no point in buying one early as I don't utilize it until March :)

On a side note, I think UniSA have stopped making their diaries too. They were ugly anyway.

  • Spiral bind too so it stays open on my desk.
Use a A5(small footprint) Student Diary at work next to phone.
Hard covers dont stay open without a paperweight.
