Note that the older games don't work very well at all on a modern system. Pretty poor for a re-release.

Also, C&C, C&C:RA and C&C:TS are all free now (if you can make them work).

    • I have this I run it on a i7 with 16gigs of ram and crossfire and they all work fine, I looked at the reviews and was worried but if you have problems google is the best fix.

I have had lots of problems with C&C/RA. Most I have resolved, but Multiplayer is very broken.

Have you tried Multiplayer at all? To me, that is the point of these games.

        • No, I work away and most of the time I have to play offline :-(

    is this code for origin?
it is also sold for 29.99 on amazon…

  • any one know whether the old games are compatible with Win8?

    • +1

Most of the games will work on Windows 7 and Win8 but need some patching/changing to make them work 100%.

If your after games like C&C Gold and C&C TSun and C&C Red Alert I would recommend downloading the freeware ones 1st and see if you can get them to run following the online guides if your worried…

  • I 100% recommend buying this to show support for the re-release of old classics, however for others who want the early gen games see this link for download details and support forums

Also C&C Renagade is Amazing and still has online servers and lots playing :)

Aussie server it up anyone :D lol

you 100% recommend buying this from, and supporting the company that destroyed command & conquer?

    • I 100% recommend buying this to show support for the re-release of old classics

I struggle with this. Buying classics that are released well (anything on GOG) I have no trouble with.

god I miss Westwood so much. I want to relive the 90's

You can get so many newer games for that sum of cash. No point on allocating money to these old games. They were great ages ago, but now you can get better games for less money. There is no lack of RTS in the market to waste time playing red alert again.
For <$5 you could get Supreme Commander Forged Alliance which is better RTS than C&C. I am a bit biased because after using the zoom in/out of SC , C&C's UI felt crippled.

Aww, C'mon they are classics and you cannot compare them to newer titles, simply because of the nostalgic value and they are still fun to play, despite the somewhat dated game mechanics and graphics. This is why they call us retro gamers.

OK compare it to TA, which works very well today and has a supported release on gog:

Early 90s Doom-style shooters are my favourite despite the 'advances' in the FPS genre. No mouse support for aiming all just keyboard controlled, no boring cut scenes, great 16 bit MIDI soundtracks, pseudo 3D sprites and simplistic 3D levels = perfection :)

And all the old ID games work great on Steam. Some others are also on GOG. I'm all for buying classic games but there should be some level of support.

I think valve would pull this release from Steam if they had it.

Thats just your opinion. Most people like command and conquer games more than supreme commander.
You are comparing one game for under 5 dollars to 17 games for ~$1 each.

      • Yep, you're right just my opinion. But I fully understand the nostalgic value of these games. Let's start with Dune 2 !!!

  • How do you get around "US only" restriction? Is it IP or CC based?

    • NM, I just tried changing the shipping address.. all good now :)

  • Have they reworked the online system for Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour? I own this game but the online play is terrible. I would gladly pay if they have fixed the connection errors / hackers / general crappyness.

  • and part 4 goes straight into the bargain bin

  • Cha ching!

  • Did anyone else get the message "Sorry, processing of this order is taking longer than expected"
I'm worried they discovered the fact that I took some random ass american address instead of using my own.
