Hi all
Just after some information anyone can advise on what to do with my sons Xmas present. We brought him a furby but he is now faulty. I still have the box but I cant find the receipt. Tried to take him back to place of purchase but they cant help me without a receipt.
I would be even a happy with a store credit but that wont help. I know its not the moral thing to do but anyone know if any of the stores will either exchange or give me a store credit without a receipt?
I paid cash for it so I dont even have a bank statement. I can understand the stores policy on it I guess.
Thanks
Faulty Furby - lost receipt anything I can do?

What store? Some stores will reprint the reciept if you tell them when/where you purchased it, with enough details (and by nice) to convince them.
did you buy it on credit card/eftpos - if so, bank statement should be good enough
Buy a new Furbie, exactly the same. Return old broken Furbie using new receipt, get full refund. Bonus points if you attempt to do it in the same transaction
this guy is a mastermind
I do this all the time - and yes, I have returned the faulty item on the same Transaction. Even the guy behind the register could see the funny side.
I agree. This is definitely the best way to return something when you've lost the original receipt. I've done it myself quite a few times.
Nothing you can do, unless you have some other proof of purchase which it appears you don't.
Had it been in saleable condition some stores would have provided a store credit, but they have no incentive to take it from you and give you money if they can't re-sell it and they don't even know if you purchased it from them.
My advice is to just buy a new one, and keep the receipt this time ;)
