Am looking for a basic GPS with map updates best I have seen is $199 with lifetime map updates.
Am also looking for a cheap desktop with at least:
i3 Intel processor
8gb ram
1gb graphics
2 yrs warranty
for under $1000.
Obviously this being Ozb lower is better. Not sure if I should do a separate post for the computer.

Ok thanks for the replies I went with the Gartmin from dick smiths seemed to be good value given what it offered. Still looking for computer tho prices seem to change frequently on custom computer sites.
Just a note: 1GB graphics doesn't really mean anything. The GPU is much more importantly that the amount of video memory.
Not as significant: 8GB RAM is not useful to everyone. The vast majority of applications are still capped at 2GB, and all of the big browsers at 4GB. RAM is cheap though.
Your price of $1000 is a lot for your requirements, do you want a monitor with that? If so that is where I recomend spending the money.
