looking to buy a mechanical keyboard. looking to spend around $100. any reconsideration?
I'm a moderate gamer. ducky keyboards seem pretty good price for value from some research on whirlpool.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will go for the brown as I mainly play starcraft, wow and dota. I was more worried about the quality of the product as I have heard bad things about razer keyboards. Might need to drop into a computer shop and try a few of them out. Appreciate the help :)
For what it is worth razer have a bad reputation on the quality of their branded keyboards (ie: starcraft keyboard). Their main lines are meant to be better, but it's hard to be certain.
I've got the Corsair K90. It's a bit more expensive than your price range, but it's well worth it if you use macro keys at all. Has Cherry Red switches, 18 macro keys, Windows-key lock, 3x illumination settings, plenty of cable routing room under the board and a powered USB port.

bought this. was highly reccomended on whirlpool
i personally use a ducky shine keyboard myself, i also use a gigabyte osmium keyboard at work, and both are fantastic.
i use blue switches at work (more typing than anything else) and i use a brown switch at home to suit my gaming needs.
it all depends what kind of games you go for?? if its FPS then most gamer's will choose a red switch keyboard as it requires less actuation force on the keys to use activate them (meaning faster key response time) if you go for more RTS types then you can be a little more chilled (which is why i use a brown switch :D)
hope this helped you choose the keyboard for you, just remember, its not about the manufacturer first, its about getting the right switch for what you need. then you can choose aesthetics based off that.
