Looks like it would make a great HTPC imo..
After trying to build another one for my folks this weekend with some old scraps, I think I could've saved so much time and effort by just buying something like this.

  • Looks good to me :) If this came up just few weeks ago I would have snapped it up

  • Can you check your email, have asked you about a build. Email account starts with "la" sent with gmail.

    • Checking…

  • How much inc (or decrease?) TO chanage the HDD to a 120gig SSD?
How quiet does this run to place on the desk in an office environment.
Can it run dual monitor setup?

    Thanks

    • You would need to upgrade to Z77 motherboard for that. Dual monitors that is.

      I'm a technoramus but I think that's right. How I'd go, geeks?

      • +1

Sorry, but it has nothing to do with Z77, just what/how many video connectors the manufacturer put on the motherboard. It is true that a Z77 based board will be more expensive and thus more likely to support this.

        • Ok, got it.

    • To upgrade from 1TB-to-120GB SSD is an additional $39.

Yes the PC is very quite. Only noise is for the internal 80mm fan.

The motherboard supports HDMI/DVI/VGA. So you can use any 2 of these ports and it will run fine.

  • Do you have any 1920 * 1200 monitors?

    • We don't normally stock them I'm afraid. If you have a brand and model we can see if our supplier can get them in for you.

  • Hi rep - when does the sale end?

And would the case fit a standard size PCI or PCI-e card? Would like to add firewire port.

    • +1

      Hi Sean,

      Sale ends tomorrow at 5pm.

The case supports only low profile expansion cards (PCI/PCI-E)

      • Can you get low profile USB 3 cards?

        • Astotek make them i believe.

  • +1 rep for dealer prices seem awesome and he is very clear on what you are buying when making things bold like no o/s and small form factor.

  • From MSY:

    Intel i3-3220 3.3GHz $117.00
    Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H $68.00
    G.Skill-NT 8GB Single DDR3 1600 F3-1600C11S-8GNT $43.00
    Seagate 3.5" Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 SATA3 7200RPM 64MB HDD $73.00
Samsung SATA 22x Black DVD RW $19.00
    SHAW Piano-D4 Desktop+Micro Tower Case w/ 680W PSU $29.00
    Build Fee $70
    Total $419

Slightly cheaper to build it yourself ($30), but a good price for a build w/ 2yr warranty.

I would, however, never use a cheap and nasty PSU. Minimum level for me is the Corsair CX430 due to reliability and efficiency. Cheap PSUs use low quality components and literally skip some important filtering components altogether.

  • This is a very good deal. I paid more than this to build something similar myself. Rep, is there any chance of the i3 3225 instead of the i3 3220? If so, how much more?

    • Yes. It's an additional +$19

  • What brand is the PSU in this build?

    • Honli

      • how much would it be to upgrade to a corsair or something similar?

        • Sorry can't upgrade the PSU as its designed for this case. It's not a standard PSU that can be swapped out.

      • thanks for the reply

  • I want one of these but $39 to Perth kills it

  • What would be the benefit over this vs the HP N40L for a HTPC..

    • This would be significantly better at handling multiple tasks and high def video. The N40L would be considerably better for reliability and storage.

  • how many usb3 ports are there and where are they? Also how many more hard drives would I be able to add - is there enough room to add 3 hard drives and a video card? My video card is XFX Radeon HD 5450 I only got it so I can use the display port for a dell 30" monitor

    • There are 2x USB3.0 ports in the rear of the PC. There isn't any room to fit any additional parts besides some low profile expansion cards (PCI/PCI-E/Videocard)

As for your videocard I don't think it will work as it's not a low profile card.

  • General question but is an i3 good enough for 1080P? I'm guessing it is but just looking for someone with experience.

    • Yep. All i3s have a GPU with hardware h264.

      • Awesome. Thanks.

  • "HD Graphics 2500" wouldnt it be 4000 being as its B75 board?

    • +1

No, the GPU is in the CPU not the motherboard, B75 has nothing to do with it. The i3 3220 has a 2500, the 3225 has a 4000 (otherwise they are the same).

      • ah ok thanks.

  • Hi Rep….

How much more would it cost to upgrade to a 2 TB 7200RPM HDD ? Thanks.
