Best flight to Hong Kong

  I booked a couple of weeks ago to fly late March, Qantas and Virgin both had fares on sale at ~$900 return. That was the cheapest I could find at the time, maybe see if they're available for your dates?

  Expedia seems to have good rates on HK hotels, but sadly you've missed the 10% off coupon (as did I). The Zuji promo may still be active - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91629, not sure how their rates are though.

  Try Cathay Pacific too, best place to stay where the action (and shopping's) is, Kowloon, try Salisbury Hotel and last minute hotels.

  Rooms are very small in HKG and prices have risen a lot in past few years.

  i recently went to hkg via singapore using scoot for <$500 return from sydney.
  Also recommend the salisbury on kowloon side. best location as its right next to shopping, museums, the star ferry and the metro is right outside the exit! stayed in a family room with both harbour and city views including the peninsula haha which included lounge area and main bedroom via ratestogo with a 20% off code. they dont offer free wifi but if youre fortunate, you can pick up a strong wifi signal from the shopping centre next door ;)

  Check out airbnb.com for a room. I found they were much cheaper than a hotel and even hostels sometimes. I am staying in a 2 bed apartment with pool etc for $130 per night in September which much better than any hotel I could find that will fit the four of us comfortably. If you are happy to have a private room instead of the whole place it is even cheaper.
