First time posting a question. Our Subaru Forester's sunroof isn't closing properly so took it down to the Subaru service centre. After waiting nearly an hour, they tell me they would need to take it apart and that alone would cost $200 . That's without fixing it. It could then cost anywhere between $800 to replace tracks or $2000 to replace it. Ouch. I've tried googling but can't seem to find any alternatives to whom I can send it to for an alternate quote. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Sunroof repair for Subaru Forester

Ha ha… Not helpful though. It is manually closed but husband is afraid it will leak once it starts raining. It's a good thing we don't live in Qld. Forgot to add we are in Perth.
Well I said it because my sunroof on my old Vectra opened but couldn't close it so after 30 mins I finally managed to override the sunroof till it close. Never open them again since. No leak though.
Tried the yellow pages and calling up a few places?
Probably be my next attempt. As I googled sunroof repair and tried looking at auto repairs and the description of the auto repair jobs oen'tsemto Orr sunroof repairs.
Check the wreckers, you might find a second handy
Hi
Try a panel beater. I know it sounds strange but they are the ones who can do it for you. I had rattling noise in my door. The dealership wanted minimum one hour labour. Neighbourhood panel beater fixed it in 10 minutes for $30.Thanks for the input. Will do some calling around.
I don't have a direct solution for you but Leo Mendez of Leo's Garage is… well he's just awesome. Imagine a mechanic who is friendly, honest, has a wealth of expert knowledge of Subaru machines and the pedigree behind it and then charges a very reasonable rate for his services. Now imagine all of this is true but it's in Melbourne. Sorry, but it's true. I recommend you call him and ask if he can suggest someone out west who can help, you never know, there may be another Leo out there, his Ph:03 9318 6489
where are you ?
he said he was in Perth
manually close it and never open them?
