Waiving Joining Fee for AFL Membership

Hi

Realise this might be a bit of a niche question for the Victorians but… just wondering if anyone has found a way to waive the joining fee that applies to AFL Membership? I'm a student so the annual cost is a very good price ($220), however the joining fee means that the price is more than doubled. Waiving/reducing the joining fee would make it even more economical. Anyone have any ideas?
