GTX 670 and other pc parts

building a pc, but GPU is the most expensive and frustrating buy.

  • I'm thinking of selling my desktop computer which is built around an i5 3570k and a GTX670.

    You interested?

    • Interesting, im planning on a build like that right now.
      what state are you in?

      • -2

        I live in Victoria

        My specs are:

        CPU i5 3570k
        GPU Jetstream gtx670 OC 2gb
RAM 8gb 1600mhz corsair low profile
        Motherboard Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe Mini-ITX
        Case Bitfenix prodigy
        Fan controller Bitfenix Recon
Fans 3X Nexus Real Silent fans
        3X case fans
Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B CPU Cooler
PSU OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular
        HDD 1tb Seagate

It's similar to scrimshaws build below but it's all crammed into a mini-itx case build, about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of standard gaming builds.

Only had this for a bit over 6 months, so i'm looking for $1000.

        • You've had it for 6 months, and you are asking more than a brand new one below?

        • Look at the parts, you'll find that my build is faster and is on a mini-itx motherboard. The total far exceeds my asking price, in fact I'm only putting like that to get rid of something I can't bring with me overseas.

        • it doesnt matter though, if you had it for 6 months thats half its lifetime in computer years so price should reflect that. if you spent $1200 then it should be sold at $600 i think.

  • CPU: Core i5 3570 (alternative K) edition $205 | $229
    Mobo: ASROCK B7M-Pro or ASROCK z77 Pro3 $69 | $109
    RAM: any brand 8GB kit 1600mhz $50

GPU: Inno3d GTX 670 $379? May be lower price in the future or wait for bargain

    HDD: Caviar Green 2TB WD20EARX $95
SSD: Sandisk Extreme 240GB (via Shopping Express) $179
    SATA3 cable $3

    Case: Coolermaster Storm Enforcer or Thermaltake v9 / $85 | $99
    Power supply: Corsair VS550 or Antec VP550 $65 | $65

ODD $0 recycle from old PC
Wifi $0 recylce from old PC or $29 for TPLink adapter
    Windows 8 OEM $99

Build based off WP Wiki, just added my own minor tweaks here and there to account for new parts and new prices.

    • thanks ive already bought the case though, lol at windows 8, and never heard of inno3d before, is it any good?

      • They've been around for quite some time now.

I consider them to be on the same tier as the other budget brands, like HIS, Powercolor, Zotac and Palit.

I had a GTX 260 Inno3d card before, had it for 2 years and then sold it. Good durable card, but like all cheap brands their customer service probably isn't very good.

      • For the GPU, I would've gone for a more expensive option, myself (Link) or the equivalently priced 7970 (Link). Sure, it's more expensive, but it's not from a 'budget brand' and has an extra year in warranty. I usually only buy cards from Asus, Gigabyte or Sapphire - up to you, though.
