Officeworks have the Western Digital 1TB Elements drives for $178. Looks like the price of these drives is getting cheaper as WD introduces their new line.

They dropped the price to stop people like me going in and getting 5% off pricematching the $178 that HN had them for. :)
I got the WD "My Book - Essential Edition" for $178 from HN.
The checkout chick scanned it and said "that will be $199 thanks" (it had $259.95 on the sticker) but I told her that the salesman told me all the WD 1TB drives were $178.After checking with him she put it through for $178.
I checked the same drive at OW across the carpark,theirs was priced at $279.99 and the guy there told me he couldn't match or beat HN.
It's a much better looking drive than the other poxy looking WD they had in the catalogue.
Cheapest price I could find on StaticIce and ShopBot for this drive was $234.88,so I jumped on it.
Now i'll never run out of storage space,and we get a 3 year warranty as well :) .
Good price, but I would rather get the Astone external drive enclosed WD 1TB drive with eSATA for $189, search "1tb esata" on staticice

I already commented in that thread that the price at OW had come down to match the HN price. I don't think anyone else has either matched or beaten this price point for that drive yet.
EDIT: oh and btw, OW North Sydney has a heap of these on the shelves too.
