Returning from dropping off a gumtree sale and dropped into the Woolworths CBD store in Hobart.
Signs said Lamb Whole Roast $10 off. A lot of roast sizes were between $15 - $18, heaps left. Not sure what sizes most stores stock, but even if original price is up to $20, thats $5.40 per kg. eg Significant % off

you are lucky, my local woolworths (springwood, qld) has all the smaller pieces labelled as "half" legs - the special is only on
"whole" legs…..
nonetheless, I picked up 3 x $26 each whole legs for $16 each….. still a bargain!!!
also, i check another woolworths (kuraby, qld) on the way home - they only had large whole legs @ $30-$35 each….
Yes, some stores will be like that. I went back to CBD and got another 4, still several left. While at Campbell St they were $20 minimum. Even cheaper with the 5% off gift cards this time around..left the card in the drawer 1st time :(

I saw the ad label in the meat section in Bonner, ACT as well,while stock last and finishes on Monday 28/01/2013, grabbed one and bought two cases of beers for 20C off fuel voucher. "Lamb BBQ+Beer+sunny" Happy Australia Day :-)
Woolies have run this special in previous years and it applies to whole legs only. So forget getting $10 off a $15 purchase, whole legs run $25-$30 and up!! Mind you if you're going to buy anyway it's still an OK deal…

no, I don't think they slice it - they are not really a full service butcher.
just cook the thing with the bone in!
Luckily local store has butcher, when asked him he was happy to slice. :)
Yeah, only huge 3kg ones at Coomera Woolies. Could only afford one.

Saw a whole stack at my Woolies (Gladstone Park, VIC) and the price range was $15-$25 (after the $10 off) - they seemed to all have been cut and prepared in a rushed way; there was a lot more fat on them than usual and they seemed to have more bone left on them. Check closely before you buy. Not an amazing deal in my book.

picked up 2 x 3kg whole legs for $16 each today, works out to be $5+/kg, still cheap if you ask me, froze one and will make dinner with the other, gotta love lamb..
