65% off all Tyres and Wheels @ OzzyTYRES. Australia Wide free freight.

35
TRUEBLUE

With the 65% discount applied to their RRPs, the tyre prices I've seen on their site are great deals especially with free shipping.

Not affiliated with the site, just always on the look out for cheap tyres since i have a performance vehicle and tend to wear out my rear tyres often!

As per the email I received:

Australia Day Sale - Discounts of 65%!
Ozzy Tyres are celebrating Australia Day by slashing all prices online! And to show our love even more we are taking another 25% off. That's a massive 65% off ALL wheels and tyres online. Just enter the discount code "TRUEBLUE" and you will receive this discount. Tell your family and friends to take advantage NOW by forwarding this great offer.

Enjoy shopping !

As a general guide, cost to fit tyres at $20 a tyre for fitment and balancing, so $80 to fit all 4. Ozzytyres may fit for cheaper or as part of the price, not sure. Freight to metro areas is free from what I understand.

It's up to 65% off. Not 65% off all wheels and tyres like you mentioned. Neg for wasting my time looking.

    • Hiya,

If you looked a bit further thru the ad, or went to the site you'd see or the all wheels and tyres at the discounted by 65%.

I copy pasted the email which says up to 65%, but it also says "A massive 65% off all wheels and tyres".

kindly remove your neg and enjoy the deal :)

      Thanks
      Robert

      • Correct the post and i might. In particular this part:

That's a massive 65% off all wheels and tyres online.

        • Corrected, removed the 'up to 65%' part and replaced with the accurate representation of 65% off all wheels and tyres.

The 'up to' was the misleading part (view the website and you'll see all their tyres and wheels discounted by 65%).

        • Thanks escimojoe - cheers

    any specific examples with links?

10 mins before I neg you

  • nexen n8000 tyres for $100 delivered! (what i've bought, lots of good reviews for them)

    normal price $230
With freight to melbourne $100 a pop!

that's pretty cheap, i run n8000's and they are fantastic. no road noise and a smooth ride.

  • Prices look quite good & free delivery (even to WA).
Not sure how much the local tyre places are going to like installing tyres that I supply though - I'm sure thats where they make some money.

  • The 'discounted' prices listed are BS - they're just standard prices. The 25% code is legit though.

For example Michelin Pilot Preceda PP2 in 225/45/R17 at $208 is about right. Then 25% off.

Pity I don't need tyres atm.

    • +4

It must be cheap if "bobjane" thinks its good! hehehe

    • Pretty sure the Pilot Preceda in this size is not actually available through Michelin in Australia! Hence another parallel import! Think it's the PS3 and Primacy HP that are!

  • Prices are pretty average but yeah the discount brings it down a bit. Sale finishes in less than 2 hours though. Not enough time to compare with the Sydney based mob that do 18" tyre and wheel packages for 1200. What am I getting extra for the 600 bucks extra? Same tyres just different mags

  • Does the sale end tonight?

  • +2

Be very careful when using this mob. They will send u something else from what you order without informing you(personal experience)… not negging the deal though.

  • +2

Ozzytyres apparently sell grey import tyres. Might be a concern for some.

    • Yes they do, as do a few of the cheap sellers on eBay!

I would just like to give you guys my experience with Ozzytyres:

I purchased 2 kumho ku31 tyres. In a day or 2 i got a text message stating that the free courier service by hunter express was experiencing delays and to ring ozzy. So i rang them and they told me to go on to Allied express however that it would cost me $30 per tyre for delivery. I decided that this was no longer a good deal for me so i requested a refund. The person i spoke to was extremely rude and condescending, he then simply said no to getting refund. When i persisted and asked why he became angry and more hostile. After a number of calls he finally angrily decided he would send me the tyres on hunter saying i may not get the tyres for 4-6 weeks (i was originally promised delivery within a week). But i still agreed he ended up sending the tyres on allied express for no cost and i recieved the items on time. However, overall my experience with ozzytyres was terrible further research on the internet revealed many similar stories, so personally i would stay away from them

Did some reading and retracted my positive. Seems like nothing but horror stories with this mob.

Didn't Zamels just get done for inflating their prices before putting them on sale???
Trust me guys, after 20 years in the industry, no one can give 65% off their genuine day to say selling prices! Because you don't make that kind of margin in the first place! Even the importers of parallel products (like these guys) don't!
Which brings me to the next point… In most cases you will not get a warranty from the manufacturer on these tyres as they have not been brought into the country through the legally entitled distributors!
I also suggest you ring up your local retailer to find out what they will charge to fit these tyres too, as most retailers have become sick of these cheap, non factory backed imports bought off the internet showing up on their doorstep! And I know quite a few are charging prices of anywhere between $30-$50 each! Yes, I think they are ripping you off, but it's what they're doing to combat it!
Finally, think about your insurance! These guys are pretty switched on nowadays, and I personally know of 2 cases where a tyre on a car failed causing an accident and the insurer denied the claims completely because the tyres on the car were not brought in by the manufacturers designated distributor here! (It was the distributor that led them down this path to avoid a civil lawsuit being filed against them by the insurers!)
Hey, I'm not telling you guys not to do it because I know their stuff can be pretty cheap, but do take all this into consideration before purchasing!

  • +4

Yeah, these guys are big time knuckleheads with a bad reputation. No idea how people like this stay is business!

It appears their crappy website has crashed too! Can't get on, not missing much I'm sure ;)

    • Because the general public hasn't been educated about parallel imports and what the true cost can be!
and sorry Sanz, stupid touchy iPhone (or fat fingered me) gave you a neg!!! fixed now!

      • Youre a member of this site and you are bringing up the subject of the true cost of parallel importing?

So you are telling me that as a member of this site, you have never purchase a product from an overseas supplier because its cheaper then buying the same product from an Australia shop and get ripped off like we have been for years?

I know a person who owns a tyreshop and I know what the true markup of tyres are and I can tell you that Australians ar getting ripped off. Go on www.tirerack.com and compare the prices to well known tyre shops here and see how much we are being ripped off. I've purchased tyres from that shop for years and have no issues with saving money.

        • +1

BS!!! I used to also run a retail shop for 10 years and then imported and wholesaled for a further 8!!! 21 years on, I'm still in the game!!! And trust me, you don't make 65% GP!!!
Problem with prices on a lot of products in Australia is importation. We are a low volume country, meaning we can't get the best deals and pay more per item on shipping in such a low volume than pretty much the rest of the world!
edit: And absolutely… I've bought heaps from o/s, but I think it's a good idea to let other people know what dangers are involved in doing so!

        • When did I say that tyreshops make 65% GP???
I'm not backing ozzytyres, but I've purchased over 10 sets of tyre from tirerack and never had any issues.

        • Sorry, I may have misinterpreted your comment: "I know a person who owns a tyreshop and I know what the true markup of tyres are and I can tell you that Australians ar getting ripped off." combined with what the listing is actually for "65% off all Tyres and Wheels @ OzzyTYRES. Australia Wide free freight." and you can see how that kind of reads that you're saying that tyre shops here are making a packet and ripping people off!!!

The only people really screwing you over are these parallel importers who:
.Buy the tyres at a much greater discounted price o/s,
.Sell at not that far off of what a properly imported tyre is,
.Most will not offer a warranty or if they do will not honour it,
.In some cases mark them as second hand and not pay import duties on them,
.Do not have to pay for any of the marketing that manufacturers or distributors pay,
.And probably most importantly to the public… They do not have liability insurance on these tyres!
Worst case, you die, and your family get nothing!!! Actually, edit that. Even worse, you kill someone else and their family get nothing!!!

Anyway, that's enough from me on this thread!!!

        • Here we go again, Australia - low volume/. Great excuse to rip of Australian customers by local distributors and retailers. blah blah blah. I have heard this time and time again. Harvey Norman - blah blah. anyway. I am sure there is a case for the low volume in certain situations and certain scenarios..definitely.

But I dont buy that lame excuse everytime someone tries to tell me thats why australians have to pay twice as much or more than anyone else in the rest of the world…And also thats why its CHEAPER for me to purchase the same item overseas and then get it shipped Express Courier.. then pay GST and customs on it and still be far better off price wise…No dice, i hear that excuse all the time now, in every part of retail. I just dont believe it much anymore. Someone is making a killing out of Australian customers, Maybe not always the retailers but then the distributors are.

Which is also why they start having agreements with overseas companies to not ship to australian customers.

        • Look, I'm not gonna make this a personal attack… But come back and comment when you've owned or run an import company and paid in exchange currency (which is pretty good at the moment, hence the reason we're finally seeing better prices), shipping, demurrage, customs, duties, freight, storage, marketing, staffing (which as anyone will tell you is bloody high in Australia), insurance, etc. The list goes on and on! Then spend 10s of thousands on legal fees signing exclusive contractual agreements to import a product and see what you think when someone comes in with the same product that has only a half of these extra costs because they've bucked the system!!!

And you're full of it if you think bulk buyers don't get better deals on product! Seriously!!!
Yeah, Gerry would be getting a better discount than the average electrical retailer here, but compared to people like Best Buy (USA), Argos & Currys (UK), I don't think so!
The brand my company brought into Australia was outsold by just 1 distributor in California 10:1 alone. His buying cost would've been that great that when the world fell into the GFC he was able to re-ship them to Oz at a still lower than normal cost to us! Luckily we were able to purchase most of these shipments!

The cost of running a business in Australia is astronomical compared to most parts of the world! Look at not only Electrical, but also our Automotive industry, Food and Grocery, even Public Transport. We don't have enough people here for consumption and future growth. Why do you think the pollies still let the amount of people they do into the country. But I'll let an Economist explain that to you!

Edit: Ps. I'm not knocking anyone for doing it, I've done it enough times myself. But I do think the public should be made aware of the possible ramifications in doing so and the impact it can have on our local economy!
However, I do want to say "If you get a great deal, then sing their praises. Don't go around knocking the guy who couldn't give you that same deal. You have no idea what his true net cost is!"
And I didn't neg this deal based on what the company does or where they buy from. I negged it because I don't believe the 65% OFF to be a true statement!

  • My friend purchased two ROADSTONE 225/45R17 94W N8000

Hope they're ok after everything bad I have read…

    • Roadstone???
Are they like Bridgestone and Firestone put together?
      SOunds like quality

      • +1

They're a cheap Malaysian tyre. Not rubbish, but definitely sit at the cheaper side of quality!

        • They seemed to have decent reviews from what I read and he just needed a cheap replacement for the moment.

        • Nothing wrong with them, I did the same once on the Mrs car!
But flogged them off when I changed the wheels!

  • +2

Definitely stay away from this mob.
They tried to pass off used rims to me as brand new, had to get into a heated argument with them to get them swapped. One of the rims was clearly buckled and the others was all scratched up, and on top of that they installed cheap China tires on and not the falken tires that was agreed during sale.

Worst experience every. Stay well away.

Oh by the way when they replaced the buckled rim I over heard the owner tell the worker to knock out the buckle and put it back on the shealf.

  • I have a mate that purchased a set of 22" rims off these guys. He vows never to return after their condescending attitude during the initial sale and after sales support.
There was an issue with the screws holding the black inserts and when my mate went back to have it repaired the guys at Ozzy superglued the inserts in, making it almost impossible to inflate his tyres without ripping off the inserts.

But TBH, I find most tyre shops have lousy customer service..

    • What bastards- I hate people that have no respect for other people's property..!!

      • Neg vote revoked - neg based on someone else's comment.

  • Ozzy tyres are fully sick bro

    • Clearly taking the piss

  • Seems like a company to stay away from :)
